Well, I just got Vol. 1, and really enjoyed it! I like Gin!! 'Tis awesome.......... But I've got one question: Why is it rated T+? Sure there were enough bad things to merit a T rating, but why T+? Once again, any and all answers are welcomed, and any and all comments are welcomed!!!

The series gets rather violent as it goes on. But all shounen anime is sort of like that ^o^ . I've seen... erm... a BUNCH of the anime series. And it's really great! Well... up to a point. Once two characters leave it gets very, VERY boring. Then the two come back and the series SURPASSES greatness. Then the two leave again, seemingly for forever and the series goes back to boredom . But all that's not gonna happen in the manga series for a good long while, so enjoy!'

First volume? Where? I didn't see it in my bookstore...>_>
It seems...interesting, though not really something I'd get drunk on (like say, YGO or Beyblade or TMM). But bleh, I first have to get the first volume before I make any judgments.
I hate my Shonen Jump...it's in the middle of April and it still isn't here...or has my subscription been...*gasp*...CANCELLED???

The series gets rather violent as it goes on.' Well, I don't see how anything can get bloodier then One Piece, but I'll take your word for it! (starts admiring the coolness of Killua)

Well, I don't see how anything can get bloodier then One Piece, Well... I don't think it's bloodier than One Piece... So no worries there *laughs* Oh, I was flipping through the book in the bookstore and I noticed Leorio was looking at a *ahem* risque magazine in one shot. maybe the book got it's rating because of that .

I was flipping through my book and I noticed 2 mistakes! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!! Sorry, I get obsesive over mistakes.Anyway, for those of you who want to know the mistakes, here they are!!
-On page 67, on the second box, there's a blank speech bubble! Not a big error, but intresting.
-When Nicholas, one of the rookies, is introduced to us on page 128, his number is clearly 187. However, the first person who fails is Nicholas. I know it's Nicholas because it's the same clothes, same labtop, everything! Now the error is is that the number on him then is 189!! Once again, not a big error, just intresting.
(stares at post) I AM obsesive over mistakes!!

Heh, Nicholas was cool.
I like this manga. It got a bit gruesome toward the end of the first volume (I was wincing in the bookstore), but it was pretty good. I actually like all the characters equally; so far I don't really have a "favorite", which is unusual in my case because usually, in an anime or manga, I am immediately drawn to one character. I suppose I like Kurapika and Leorio the most...XD Gon is slightly annoying, but since he's a main character, I'll give him some leeway. And Killua...nemah. I have really absolutely NO opinion on him.

This is probably a stupid question, but is the 'X' in the title actually pronounced as a stand-alone 'X (eks)' or is there a mathematical representaion by it, making it somthing like:
Hunter 'times' Hunter or... Hunter 'by' Hunter?
I've been thinking about that for too damn long!

According to Viz, you pronounce it like the "X" isn't there. So just say "Hunter hunter".

"Hunter Hunter" eh?....Hunter Hunter.....
Well, thanks for clearing that up for me,
but I think I'll stick with saying "Hunter 'eks' Hunter", cause now it just feels like somethings missing!

I hope it's ok to post in this thread since it seems to be more about the Hunter x Hunter manga than the anime, but I didn't see any point in creating a seperate thread for the anime series. Anyway, I recently watched the first five episodes of the anime and I'm already hooked on it. The first episode was kind of sad but the others were pretty funny. I especially liked episode four where Seijoro was deceived onto going on the bus that ended up being a detour. ^^;; I don't have a fav character yet, but so far I like Seijoro the most for his comical moments. The animation has been pretty impressive, too. I thought the first few seconds of episode one was in live-action at first. o.O The opening theme song was so exteremly catchy that I even downloaded an mp3 of it, which I'm currently listening to over and over again. ^^ Anyway, this is a very different type of anime than what I'm usually watching, but I've liked what I've seen so far and I'm really looking forward to watching the rest, especially the darker stuff I've heard this series has, since I like dark series.

Well, I don't see how anything can get bloodier then One Piece You obviously have not seen "Samurai X"; "Samurai X" was rated 17+ ONLY because of violence ang gore (there isn't even any profanities (sp?)): people are getting cut in half from head to crotch, blood is spraying everywhere, there's huge puddles of blood everywhere, people are drentched (sp?) in their OWN blood...it's the gorey-est show EVER!
