I don't think the manga's doing that well in North America either... Viz is marketing the manga as "Shonen Jump Advanced". To me, that looks like a bad sign.
As for the actual name stuff, it's a combo of the Japanese and English anime names (e.g. the grandpa is "Mayumi Muscle", the king "Suguru Muscle", the son "Mantaro Muscle", and the queen "Belinda Muscle".) The kid somehow acquires the nickname Kid Muscle.

Probably, aside that kid is easier to say than Mantaro, his father is the king they just call him kid....... okay I don't get it either.
They should have called him prince muscle. Although that sounds a little too preppy.

Has anyone seen the Japanese opening? I just watched it again today, and it is hillarious. But not in the same sense as the show. They try to make it out to be a normal, deep serious anime. There is NO humour at all in the opening, I dont think Kid even smiles once. It is a bunch of dramatic scenes with Kid fighting monster fighters, and a few ghost images of past fighters, making it seem all epic and etc.
Ok, Im tired, lol, if any of you can, watch the opening, quite the thing if you are used to the show being comical, and whatnot.

I accutlly liked that show;D
I thought it was funny but I have a kinda a werid sense of humor anyway.I even tend to laugh at stuff that i think is funny but other people don't.;D
Kinda proud to say that I watched that show.Oh! I also read the manga today at a Walden Books*That store rocks!! ^_^*
They only had vol.1&3 but it's okay.I kinda liked them but I won't buy them expect maybe vol.4 because that's based on the genertion x bit.I liked that part and season 2 better to tell the truth ;D

I found out Kinnikuman II Sei was originally serialized in Playboy Japan!  And Viz edits out the nudie stuff in the Ultimate Muscle manga. |

I watched the show once. About halfway through I felt my I.Q. points dropping so I shut it off. It was the definitely the worst anime I ever had the misfortune of watching. It had such a weak plot. I was never so glad when I found out it was not coming back to the Fox Box. Same here. The only show on the foxbox that I watch is Shaman King anyway, so I'm not sad to see it go. Though they could have found a better show to replace it with the "funky cops" or whatever. Good god...... |
