Getting back on topic, I have some good news. Beating the game unlocks a two player Vs mode.(Why you need to unlock it is beyond me) Most of the major charecters are present, and there are several hidden charecters that you choose by pressing select while hilighting someone else.
The charecters you can play as are
Yoh.
Hao-Press select on yoh. Since the game uses dub names he is techniqly Zeke, but hey he has the best entrance pose in the game. Actually you never fight him in one player, so I'm releaved he's present, even if he is just a alternate coustome Yoh.
Ren.
Horo Horo.
Rio
Lyserg
Faust-Actually the computer controls faust, and you control Eliza. If either one is defeated you lose.
Silva
Lee Pailong
Kanna-Hitting select switches you with her teamates in the Hanabari. Like Faust, Aschroft is pressent.
Mari
Matilda
The following charecters are Game only Charecters.
Meryl.
Vineuvell
Zuoa.
Heckell
Ruby
Zuramal.
I'll see if anything else unlocks from beating the game.

okay I'm getting it again, but I still didn't see ChocoLove in your list.
This doesn't look good for the dub.
Could they actually remove ChocoLove from the dub? that would be very hard to do wouldn't it? Talk about rewriting a series!!

Chocolove doesn't show up because the story takes place before he appears... Sorta.
The story is a bit odd. It starts with Yoh's qualifiying match against Silva. Then while he's getting punished by Anna for getting a beeper from another woman, a strange divergence happens. A girl named Meryl Inugami shows up sayingi Yohmei sent her for training... And as a wife canidate for Yoh?! I think you can imagine how Anna reacts.... After that it largely follows the show for a while. Thing is you can change events by winning certain fights. Ever wonder what would have happened if Yoh beat Faust? Well you can find out. When you get to the US things change. The games Villeins, an organization called Force Millenium get involved. Because of there actions the Shaman fight is delayed. So Lyserg stays and never joins the X-laws and Chocolove is no where to be seen. The Hanugami do show up, and I wonder if there voice actressess are the same as the show. Kanna actually fits her. Matilda sounds like Monkey D. Luffy. Since I don't know how to work the spoiler color change I won't say more about it here. The humor is quite good. They kept Lens line about drinking 3 bottles of milk a day, and we learn another great function of the Oracle Bell. Oh and Hao probably has the best line in the game. I'm strongly thinking about making it my signiture.
Gameplay is split into two types. A stratagy map, and fighting. Thing is you only get to see and control the fighting if Yoh is a participant. Otherwise it skips to the resualts. You move your charecters, use items and use special abilities. The abilites are as follows.
Yoh-Raises defense of Yoh and nearby allys.
Meryl-heals Meryl and nearby allies.
Horo Horo-Performs an ice attack in a straght line.
Ryu- Raises Ryu's attack.
Ren- increases Rens movement on the map.
Lee Pailong- same a Ryu
Lyserg-same a Horo Horo, only uses his pendulum.
Faust- Heals nearby allies.
When a fight starts you can pick one of your nearby allies to help the first charecter. So you can have two people in a fight, three if you pick Faust, since he has Eliza with him. The computer can use three units at once.
If you want I'll post more on the story, or answer other qustions later. Right now my fingers are tired.

Oh by the way there is a new opening theme played at the beginning of the game. I really hope that this never makes it to the show, as it is horrible. It's so bad it makes the dub theme seem like Oversoul/Northern Lights.

Crap... this game appeals to me now.... I thought I could avoid it because of it's dub connection.

I got the PS2 one. Unforutunatly there is a lot of urealized potental. Sadly you can only play as Yoh, and No, there is no Vs Mode, only one player. Also I have yet to see any sighn of Chocolove. He's in Master of Spirits for GBA, non playable though. |

If Chocolove were in the PS2 game, Then I'd know what his voice actor sounds like. By the way, What does Chocolove use for a weapon? I've never seen any pictures of his oversoul. Oh and be warned, if Boris has the same voice actor as in the game, he will have a bad transylvanian accent.
Okay some more thaoughts.
Although we don't get to see it, Lyserg undergoes Anna's training regimen.
In 1 player most charecters(Pailongs the exception) can choose between Hyoi Gattai 100 or oversoul. Hoyi gattai is weaker, but you gradually recover Furuyoku. Plus the cpu charecters won't waste Furuyoku on cannon fodder that way. It's freaky to see Morphine and Kororo turn into spirt flames and integrate. For Faust Eliza stays a skeleton.
On the game only charecters.
Meryl Inugami- Like I said before, she claims that Yohmei sent her for training, and as a wife canadate for Yoh. She's a fairly nice girl, who has a crush on Yoh. Her partners is a wolf spirt named Fenier, who oversouls into a dog coller Meryl wears as a braclet.
Force Millenium
The villeans. They may not have spirt partners, and they don't seem to oversoul. They all wear military uniforms and gold masks.
Vineuvell-The leader. Has a knights visor for a mask. Uses a rapier for a weapon.
Ruby- The only female member. Her mask is just a round surface, with no featurs. She has wings, but they don't seem to be an oversoul. Uses a dagger.
Heckyll-The aggresive one. Has a trianular helmet with teeth. Fights using sharp claws.
Zerumo-Short fat and Bearded. His helmet has goggles. His limbs can streach.
Zoa-The big muscular guy. His helmet looks like a hammer.

Wow, this seems awsome. Must put on Christmas List. ^-^ And if my friend gets to play it, she'll be unhappy because she controls Eliza not Faust...^-^' But now I really need to get it!

This post has some GREAT info, however, since we now have a Video Games forum, we can afford to be more specific about exactly which Shaman King game we are posting about.
