I think it might have been a compliment.... although an ackward one.....
I have one How to Draw Manga books, I looked through a bunch of them, and the one I have is one of the best.
called "Amazing Effects" volume 7 it has a very misleading name. It is a great book done in comic format which teaches about mood and panels and tons of great stuff. Good things to know for art in general IMO. Done by one "Mikio Kawanishi"
I recommend it. ^_^
