I wrote this today, a simple POV fic of one character thinking of another character.
However, I do need help. I need the Japanese dialogue right at the end. So if anyone's seen episode 58 and can help me out with that...
[start fic]
Gentle strength… What does it mean. I suppose that everyone has at least a little bit of strength in them, and everyone has a gentleness, somewhere. My strength is slight, and though I suppose I am one of the ‘gentle’ ones, I still use my small strength to do what I believe in.
Believe… What causes us to believe in what we believe in? I suppose there are those who believe in what they were taught to believe, while others find it on their own. Beliefs can bring you strength. I believe in what I do, and can find strength in that. As long as I believe that I am in the right, I have the strength to do what I must.
Right… To do what is right… The way of justice is not always easy, but it is needed. It is the right thing to do. I believe in this fully. And, even though I am a ‘gentle’ one, I must be strong, to do what must be done, to do what is right.
But there is another… he is gentle, more than I. Yet, he is also strong. His strength comes not from his belief in what is right, but from his gentleness. Our path… our path may lead to our deaths. But in giving our lives, we may allow others to live. But he… I do not want him to have to give up his life. Yet… his strength is a strength we need. But, if we are simply using him, would not that be considered wrong?
Wrong… In this world, there is right, and there is wrong. But what others see as wrong, some see as right. There are those who do not believe in what we do, they believe that we are wrong. But we are not wrong. We know what must be done, and though they believe that our methods are ‘wrong,’ we know that we are right. We must protect the world.
Protect… What we do, we do to protect the world. Yet, if I am able, I want to protect him as well. Like me, he is gentle, but his gentleness is his strength. Perhaps… perhaps I can take his burden, and avoid his death. It is a burden I would gladly bear. It is something that he likely would not understand… It is something he would find unbelievable.
Unbelievable… if you were to tell him ahead of time, the pain he would suffer, the things he would do, I do not think he would believe you. Yet… he may still be the most gentle of us all…
‘If one believes in the path before him, he follows it. As this is human nature.’ It is his nature to be gentle, and to take strength from that. I believe that he will do what is ‘right,’ that he will find his way to justice. And I believe that he will be the one to do what we could not…
Yasashii ne, Lyserg. It's alright. Your gentleness is different. You really are a gentle kid. You could probably do what we could not do. Being gentle, that is what justice needs most.
