Well, I (kind of) fleshed out the story/description for one of my other two fancharacters...and here it is.

Name: Laura Walsh (In dub, most likely Lauren.)

Team: Revolutionaries

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Appearance: Short (we're talking Edward Elric's height here...), with very light (almost blond) brown hair worn tied back, and grey eyes. Usually wearing a dark blue sweater over a t-shirt sporting the logo of some bookstore or other, and black slacks that NEVER get dirty or wrinkled. (No one has asked why and lived to tell the tale....) Her only jewelry is her oversoul object: a necklace engraved with a highly stylistic depiction of Yggdrasil, the Viking World Tree.

Spirit: James, a Scotsman with severe memory issues, which are the reason Laura can use another spirit's oversoul medium with him. (And he has issues with Raphael, for a reason he can't remember...his cause of death was severe head trauma, okay?) She found him wandering disoriented around a castle on her last trip to Scotland. (He's her second ghost: her first was a Norseman who called himself Loki, and was the original possessor of Laura's Yggdrasil-motif necklace. He was fed to the Spirit of Fire by Hao.)

Oversoul object: Her necklace. When she oversouls James into it, the chain and pendant become the blade of a six-foot-long furyoku pike with a Viking tree of life motif engraved on it.

Nationality: American planning to move to the UK.

Religion: Semi-Christian...realizes just how many polytheistic religions were blended into it, and respects those.

Relatives: Her parents, who were living happily in Cincinnati when she last checked.

Bio: Other than the facts that she met Loki and uncovered his necklace on an archaeological dig in Norway, and met James in Scotland, Laura hasn't told her teammates much about herself. She hates Hao for feeding Loki to the Spirit of Fire and trying to kill her, and yet she's the most normal out of the three Revolutionaries, having had both her parents to support her through her training as a shaman. She also hates computers with a passion, referring to them as "demonic machines" that will destroy the written word: which is something very important to her, as she grew up living down the block from a bookstore and a library.

Weakness: Physically, Laura is pretty weak. She also has the unfortunate habit of passing out suddenly if she doesn't get enough sleep.

What 4Kash would do to her: Probably take out the bit about Loki being eaten by SoF. They'd definitely take out her long speeches about how Christianity is a conglomerate of many religions and how that fact should be acknowledged and respected.

Bio: A well hidden member of Hao's team. He was recruted by Hao due to his fluet playing tallents. (with help from Miss. May) While Akio would play, Miss. Akio has an obsession with team mate Ashil, and kept trying to convince the boy that Hao wasn't good for him. One night when Ashil was admiering the stars, Akio confronted him once again, this time winning the boy's heart.

When Ashil was killed by the X-Laws, he withdrew from the shaman turnament and from Hao's team, vowing to kill each member for the X-Laws for what they did to his beloved.
Holding Ashil in his arms while took his last breath set Akio off. The boy now had a new mission.

What you think 4Kids would do to ruin your character: He'd probably be made into a girl, or be given a terrible Scottish and/or Italian accent, and spout out stereotypical Italian and Scottish phrases like "Mamma Mia".
What your character would do if in the opening theme, Oversoul: Joining the "Cavalry charge" (see Opening Themes topic) as one of the last people, and then being one of the people in the "Attack Hao" sequence, most likely in "Yobi samase". The attack involved being "Trinity Fire", where he controls Cerberus with the bagpipes and three lines of fire come out from each mouth.
Spoilers about your character: He has another personality inside him, a devil side. He has attacks accordingly, i.e. shooting out demons. This comes from Kazi dying, and revealing the truth, about being more than cousins, being brothers. The killer? Hao. The scene? Kenni has just sent Cerberus back to Hell so he can kill Hao alone and Cerberus can torment him (but you all know that Kenni would really give Cerberus back to Hell to protect him from Hao). Now, he has actually PO'ed Hao, so the SoF attacks, to find Kazi jumping in the way and dying in the process. Kazi merges into Kenni's body to strengthen the devil side.

Appearance: She could be Meene Montgomery's twin. Except unlike Meene, Meredith isn't a member of the X-Laws, and abhors the use of firearms.

Spirit: Aesculapius, former Roman god of healing. Once his worshippers stopped coming, he became convinced that he was worthless and dwindled in strength until he could barely physically manifest himself. Even so, he's still as powerful as a Great Spirit...but only in healing. In battle, he's barely average.

Oversoul Object: A staff topped with a Caduceus. Meredith uses it like a boh. (Bladeless Karate pole weapon.)

Religion: Atheist

Relatives: None. She is the only survivor of a mysterious genetic illness that wiped out her entire family (and all other residents of the town she lived in!), with her as an exception. This is why she went into medical school; she wanted to find out what had caused it.

Bio: Meredith Stryder was once a perfectly normal young woman. At the age of eighteen, she had everything a girl could dream of: a loving family, a huge group of friends, a handsome boyfriend who might propose marriage after graduation, and a kick-butt guardian spirit who had come back with her from the Latin IV A.P. class trip to Rome two years before.
Then, disaster struck. Her hometown, home of Bio-InGen Technologies' main laboratories, was suddenly struck by an epidemic of an unidentified disease that killed its victims by dissassembling their very cells. It was in the ruined town of Mason that she abandoned her Christian faith. ("Jesus loves the children of the world? Then why is my little brother dead? Why is EVERYONE dead? TELL ME!") The lone survivor, she was paid a huge sum of money by Bio-InGen as compensation. After a six-month stay in quarantine, and three years in a psychiatric hospital, Meredith used the remaining money to go to medical school, and got two degrees: one in genetic engineering, and one in surgical medicine. With Aesculapius by her side, she entered the Shaman Fight...hoping to avenge her family, or at least see them again and apologize....

Weaknesses: Her insistence on using Hyoi Gattai with Aesculapius to heal people. It leaves her without any furioku for three days.

What $Kids would do to her: Remove her backstory completely, and make her sound like a valley girl.

Spoilers for Meredith: She didn't pass through the Mason epidemic unaffected. Meredith does have the Mason contagion in her system...and unbeknownst to her teammates, she knows that it's slowly killing her. Every time she depletes her furioku, the disease advances, almost imperceptably. Ordinarily that wouldn't be a problem, but when she's fighting battles and healing people almost every three days, it is. Unless she and Aesculapius can find a cure within the next year, Meredith will die.

Appearance: Short straight light brown colored hair that doesn't quite go to her shoulders, normally a little clip in on her left bangs. Deep green eyes.
Spirit: None really, she can see spirits, but is not a shaman. Her chimera pet could be considered her guardian.
Oversoul Object: None but she has a special sword which came out of her body.
Nationality: Japanese
Religion: ...um...i don't know ;;
Relatives: She has a brother named Kihatsu, father died in a car crash. She has a mother named Mitsuko who is remarried to a man named Tamazaki and has a daughter 3 years younger than she named Ayumi.
Bio: Yukino is a psychic. When she was very young shhe first experienced her powers, when lost from her brother a man tried to kidnap her but she was able to knock him out using that power. She grew up with her mother and brother, her father died in a car accident when she was 3. Her brother and she were extremely close, he always looked out for her and played with her. When he turned 15 and yukino was 9 he decided to leave on his own. Their mother had remarried a man named Tamazaki Hatsuo who had a daughter 3 years younger than Yukino, and was a brat. That had made both children unhappy. But that wasn't all why Kihatsu left, he felt a calling, and followed it. yukino was deeply crushed, she hated her new step father and sister, and had no one.
Yukino didnt do well with other people, she didnt have many friends, the other children could tell she was different and tended to pick on her. So, she took her schoolwork seriously, always achieving straight A's. Going into Middle school she was head of student council, class president and rep. everything like that. She did it to get back at the students in her own way. She always had up a cold front, she didnt need anybody. When she was 11, Yukino left on her own. She got a one bedoom apartment from a kind old couple running some aprtments as long as she agreed to work around there and help them, as well as do good in school. They thought very highly of her. her mother accepted it was her choice.
Yoh noticed her, everyone almost in their grade, including Manta, feared her. Or were at least cautious of her. Yoh wasn't though, he could sense her abilities. He tried to get through to her, even rescuing her from a shaman that tried to take her away for use of her power. She refused, yet wanted to at the same time. It was Ren who saved her next and showed her the light. he got it through her head she needed to change. That said, she did change. yukino became more of a free spirit. Thats how she is, and can be a bit ditzy, she travels with Yoh and the group, with a crush on Ren. Hao himself has his eye on her, wanting her power to help him, though she refuses to side with him. Once the group meets Lyserg, she falls head over heels in love with him, while still crushing on Ren a bit. It crushes her when he leaves for the X-laws, but she still loves and has faith in him. ((i've only been able to see the dub, cant really go any further with this one ^^;)
Weakness: Lyserg, Ren, any of her friends, but particularly those two. She also tends to get scared in battle and want to run.

Spirit: Noruame. She is a spirit, not a ghost, a spirit of a priestess/ninja girl from a LONG time ago. She has golden eyes, long straight purpleish hair that is tied in a pony-tail and is dressed is red armor. She also has two black stripe looking marks on each cheek. She has served the Eiyuko's(Kojika's family) for many years.
Oversoul Object: Two double-edged swords.

Relatives: Aki Eiyuko, Kurosuke Eiyuko, Kotoko Minagawa.
Bio: Kojika is a member of the Eiyuko family, a great family of many generations that consists of many shamans and warriors. Kojika's father, Aki, married a girl he thought he fell in love with in high school named Kotoko Minagawa, they married at 19. Shortly after Kotoko became pregnant, and Kojika was born before you know it. However, from high school's end to that time, something in Kotoko had changed...she had taken up drinking, and smoking and she was different than the girl Aki remembered. When Kojika was 2, because she had turned into a bitch, Kotoko divorced Aki and got custody of Kojika, they moved from Okinawa to Tokyo.
Ever since she was little, Kojika wanted love. Her mother didnt give her that much.....and Kojika enjoyed watching romance movies and shows. She dreamed of having love, true love. She grew up with a alchoholic mother, she did alright in school and was an exceptionally fast runner. When she was 10 she was signed up for an all school race. She was the youngest there, it was a rare occasion for a 5th grader to compete. While in the race she met a boy, Hinoto Miyuteki. he was 17, and was friendly. She developed a deep friendship with him, then he said he loved her. they had a bit of a relationship for a very short while, then, Hinoto raped her. She couldn't stop it, he was too big. It was scarring for her, as would be for anyone. When she turned 11 Kojika tracked down her father and the Eiyuko shrine useing the internet. She left her mother and went to Okinawa. there she found Eiyuko shrine and met her father, Aki, and her grandfather, Kurosuke, Eiyuko. She discovered about her family roots, everything. She was then determined to become a warrior and a shaman. And she did just that. Mastering the double edged swords and gaining Noruame as he Guardian Spirit. She and Noruame dont have the most usual relationship...Kojika would much rather fight on her own rather than use spirit unity/control. They argue attimes, but really are close.
Kojika meets up with Yoh and the gang on accident. She overhears them talking about yukino, she ran away and they couldnt find her. Kojika, being her semi-insane self offered to look for her. They described Yuki and off she went. When she tracked yukino down it was love at first sight for Kojika. (uh yeah..she goes both ways ^^; ) On their way back to find Yoh's group Kojika and yukino develop a very special friendship. Kojika does love her though, and Yuki can be oblivious to that fact at times. After that, Kojika joined Yoh and the gang. Eventually she gets Yuki doesn't and will not love her back, and she ends up falling in love with Horo Horo hehe...
Kojika's personality: She's....well, she's kinda crazy. She's known to laugh obnoxiously and loud in public. She can be sarcastic. She has big...um...assets...and they tend to bounce alot. People tend to misunderstand her, she really is a nice girl who is caring and loyal, all she really wants is to be loved. She is an exceptional fighter and loves it, her power lies in her legs alot, she packs a powerful kick.
Weakness: yukino, anyone she loves.

Fur is black with white stomache, paws, tip of tail, and tipsof ears. When in human form cute shaggy black hair and rabbit ears and busy tail. Dark blue eyes.

Bio: Yoh's group rescued Muruchi from his creator, a crazy man who thought he was God. He was a shaman, and created Muruchi by using different dna and stuff x.x Muruchi is a chimera. He is first a giant rabbit eared bushy tailed black and white beast. Thats his big mean form which he fights in. He would attack anything in his path and the man who had him was extremely cruel to him. Yoh's gang fought and saved him. Yukino got into his mind using her power and eventually freed him. For that, he has eternal grattitude to her. After the fight, Muruchi wants to go with them but...he's so big a scary looking....soooo, he changes into his littler more cuddley form which can ride on your head! He loves Yukino very much and is usually with her, but also tends to hang with Ren. Muruchi can at times turn human, where he is a very cute littlre boy with rabbit ears and a tail. He calls Yuki 'master' Muruch is sweet and would do anything to protect Yoh, Yukino, or any of the team. Except for maybe Kojika....he really doesnt like kojika XD
Weakness: yukino or member o the team. His tail, if you pull it in big form he turns little, same with human.

Hmmm...on any other forum, I would've denounced this kind of topic as Mary Sue breeding...

But really, you guys are different. Maybe it's because there's a more even gender balance here, or there's a smaller number of people, and no rabid fangirls, but this is a good combination that doesn't lead to Mary-Sue-ing...I'm seeing a lot of male characters, for one thing, and not an overload of scary Mary Sues. ^_^ Ah, when I first checked out this topic, I was really expecting the worst and preparing to scream out "MARY SUES!!!!!!!! ARGHHHHHH!!!! THEY BURN!!!!" But I'm glad I don't have to!

Spirit: Hikaru, his dead older brother.
Oversoul Object: Hikaru's typewriter, or, more specifically, the typewriter ribbon, which curiously enough is never-ending.
Nationality: American/Japanese

Relatives: His father, owner of a publishing company, his mother, and Hikaru, his dead older brother.
Bio: Injiki led a fairly, normal, happy childhood with the dream of becoming a literary fiction writer. But ever since he was little he realized that he was not normal, for he could see ghosts and no one else could. So ghosts influenced his early writing. On his sixth birthday, his parents discovered that he had this talent, and, being such prejudiced people, kicked him out of the house. But Hikaru followed Injiki (much to his father's disapproval) and together forged a life on the streets. It was on the streets that they learned about shamans; this made Injiki want to be one. On Injiki's tenth birthday, Hikaru was killed as an innocent bystander in a gang shoot-out, but before he died, he gave Injiki his typewriter. After his death, he became Injiki's spirit ally. The two went on with their lives (or afterlife, in Hikaru's case), learning about the Shaman Fight and deciding to participate for the sheer hell of it. Injiki carries his typewriter around almost religiously now, and has been keeping a diary on it ever since he got it. Oh, one extra bit thing--Injiki means "typewriter" in Japanese (according to Freedict, at least...T_T)

What you think 4Kids would do to ruin your character: Isn't it obvious? They'll turn him into a complete, lisping NERD!!! And they'd change his name to something completely nerdy, like "Izzy" or "Isaac". XD

How 4Kids would ruin her: take out the fact that one of her parents is a human and one is a coyote...probably decide she was made in a test tube. actually, maybe she was. I don't know how it worked yet...

Okay, I'm not to sure if this would count as a Mary-Sue or not because it's kinda my fursona but here goes. I'll put up images when the're finished. Oh, and I do realise her name's megumi but I chose the name way before a started watching Shaman King.

Bio: Megumi had always had an active imagination and often liked to pretend she was an alien from a planet called Cameron 5 (hence the plush ears and tail). Growing up in England she had always been fairly independant. Takehiro had been an imaginary friend of hers but was actually the spirit of a young man who enjoyed making sci-fi costumes who had died afew years earlier in a carcrash. He soon evolved through Megumi's over active imagination. The small cat spirit, Kya was found whist clearing out her loft and has always been timid yet playful. Megumi soon moved to funbari hill after meeting the others in America. Being the slightly hyper fangirl she is she often gets on their nerves alot (She's lost count on all the time's she's tried to be stabbed, yep, she's that irritating)

Weakness:Not very stong, is often very lazy/procratinates alot.

What you think 4Kids would do to ruin your character: Probably call her Megan or something and turn her into a vally girl. They'd also proabbly make her annoy the Mankin cast on purpose instead of being a bit of a fangirl.

Spirit: Arapaima, Pike, Bass, Bowfin, Snapping Turtle, Bullfrog, and Catfish spirits.

Oversoul Object: Collapsable Fishing rod/lures. Spirits are used with appropriate lure. Fishing rod can then be used as short range sword, long sword, or a launcher of sorts (think Lyserg's weapon)

Religion: No set religion.

Bio: Born in North America. Lived a normal suberban life for 8 years. Growing up he became fasionated with fish, and loved keeping them, and fishing for them He had a huge collection of fishing lures he played with as toys when he could not be using them to attract fish from a local stream. A happy, if not a bit detached boy, he lived the same way every day. This was until all his known relatives were wiped out by a sickness. A secretive family, no one knew. A house just seemed to become empty overnight. Alone, he wandered the streets for several days, whitnessing horrible acts against innocent people, and animals by unlucky chance. After seeing a group of school children throw a rock at a seagul, he screamed at them. The older children laughed, and threw a rock at him. He just stood there, as the rock was shot right into his left eye. Suddenly, the gulls in the area began to scream wildly, as the Shamanic aura began to grow around the boy. Gripping the small plastic worm he had in his pocket, he ran at the boys, and with a single kick, they were both paralized. With his new found Shaman abilities, he began expanding his "spirit collection" from the catfish spirit he unwilling channeled from his worm. He began traning in the wilds of North America for several years, causing comotion in public parks, destroying zoo displays, and "accidentally" killing fisherman in his search for animal spirits. He eventually ended up in Patch villiage, where he hoped to become welcomed by the nature loving Shaman there. However, his, wierdness, and acward behavior led the Patch to worry. He would pick shaman fights for no reason, sometimes stopping half way and wandering off, sometimes, almost killing his fighting partner. This, obscure behavior made the Patch Shaman decide to send him off. He wandered again, joining Hao's team for a while, but after failing a test, he was "killed by Hao", or thats what Hao thought. Using the Snapping turtle spirit, and weight as a spirit medium, he escaped death. He then went on to wander, and interact with Shaman during the Shaman tournament, poping up randomly, challenging, and talking to competitors.

Weakness: Fairly random, although he has many spirits, spirit mediums, etc, he has fairly low power unless stressed. He also becomes reclusive and chaotic when people show him love.

Spoilers- In his quest, he became good friends with a set of twin shaman, and quickly fell in love with the female twin. Unfortunately, their parents were scared of the wierd boy, and with his unstable power, they decided to leave the small town one day, leaving the boy to wander again. This moment led Pantodon to his fear of love. It is also later revealed that his wierd behavior was by choice, as when serious "big fight" like scenarios, he becomes much more focused. Afeter being accepted by Yoh and his group after destroying a Hao team assasin, he decides to keep training, and keep exploring so he can find the love he seeks.

What you think 4Kids would do to ruin your character: They would make his past much less complicated, they might call him Don. And of course, all the times he killed people, this would be covered up.
