After the matter; a 'fanfic' by Gus

Chapter 13

The sounds of steam hissing through half-welded plates, clanking iron, and whirring gears echoed throughout the valley. The metal behemoth towered above the crags, glaring across at the red monster across from him. On the heads of each stood a single man, each looking at each other with arms crossed. Then, as if on some cue from an invisible conductor, they sprung into action. They leapt at each other, weaving back and forth through the barrage of attacks sent out by the other. From the Spirit of Fire, flames spewed like from a volcanoe. The Iron Golem simply slammed at his foe with his hulking metal fists. It would have looked odd to someone who just happened to see it; these giant figures moving so nimbly and speedily. They leapt together, then back, then together again. Sparks flew from red-hot metal, and bursts of magma sprayed out of red firelike skin. Apart from the other boy, standing on the remaining peice of floor, with three other bodies lying at his feet, no one else moved.

But that was about to change.

As the iron fist rushed in, in yet another barrage of fury, something suddenly reached out to block it. Another hand, just as large. Made from some shining silver substance, perhaps even light, it was surprisingly strong for something so frail-looking. The body it was attatched to, however, was nothing but frail.

A large figure made of the same material as the arms, shaped in a way resembling a suit of armor. It was adorned all over with red crosses, and in its right hand was clutched a giant lance. On its head stood a girl wearing a flowing white trenchcoat. She looked at the giant iron man, and narrowed her eyes. "We are the X-Laws. We are here to kill this demon, and you for cooperating with him. No matter who you a- wait. G... Gus?"

Gus looked at her in shock. "My god... Heheh, nice to see ya! It's been a while, hasn't it Meru!"

I know you'll likily just post more later that will blow me away even more, but that was brilliant. The emotion and mood in that last little part was almost perfectly portrayed. Yay for emotion. (feeds on it)

Chapter 13 (Continued)

She rubbed her eyes, looked away, and looked back. "Gus? My god, it's Gus..."

She was fairly tall. She appeared to be in her twenties somewhere. She was well filled out, but not fat. She had long hair, dyed pink and sticking out from the back of her head in four long angled ponytails. She wore a white trenchcoat, with a tight black shirt and pants underneath. She was holding her hands to her mouth, the look on her face switching from delighted to horrified every few seconds. She sputtered, but couldn't speak.

A man on a similar-looking giant light robot thing appeared behind her. "Meru. What the hell are you doing? We're here to kill these guys, you're just standing there!"

She looked over at him, eyes wide. "Akio... Akio, it's Gus!"

The boy looked over at Gus and fiddled with his glasses. He had medium-length black hair, slightly messy. He wore a pair of small gold earrings, and a white trenchcoat that was almost identical to Meru's. Underneath was a black shirt, hanging slightly loosely, and well-fitted black pants. He looked over at Gus. He frowned, took off his glasses, breathed on them, rubbed them on his sleeve, and looked again. "Holy shit... Gus?"

Gus gave a crooked little grin. "Yah. Akio, right? Good ta see you again. Uh... what's all this about killing me, then?"

Meru looked at him, still obviously very confused. She pointed to Loki, then to Gus, then back to Loki. "I... you... isn't... eh?"

Akio had the same look on his face. "Are you... and him... wait, what? I-"

A man appeared next to him. His giant mech was standing a small ways off, waiting expectantly. His slightly spiked green hair stood up at odd angles. He looked younger than the other two, but the look in his eyes was that of one who has power, and who knows it. He wore the same outfit as them, with one addition; in his breast pocket was a pair of glasses. His eyes seemed fine, but it was there nonetheless. He tightened his grip on Akio's shoulder, and spoke in a cold voice. "Akio. Are you losing your nerve? We're here to kill, nothing will stop us."

Akio looked back at him, a look of respect, with a hint of fear, in his eyes. "My... my lord. No, Lord Lyserg. We aren't losing our nerve! We will kill him!"

Lyserg glared at Meru. "You?"

Meru's eyes flitted from Gus to Lyserg. "I... I'm not losing my nerve. I will kill, in the name of God. Nothing can stop Justice."

It's time for me to reply now. No pressure Gus, but it's been ten days and I know the story isn't finished. I didn't participate in the RP but I have read this story from the first chapter and love it. Please don't leave us hanging. Please? Please? I will beg...*bricked*

Chapter 14

Lyserg grinned. "Just as I thought. You are loyal. You will kill."

She nodded, her lower lip trembling. She swung her gun around, until she had it resting in the middle of Gus' forehead. Gus stared at her oddly. "Meru... "

Suddenly, a whistle was heard from across the hills. Loki sat on the Spirit of Fire's head, staring angrily. "Argh, go away! He's BUSY, we're all BUSY! Go awaaay!"

Lyserg grimaced over at him. "We'll deal with you when the time comes, demon." He spat this last word out with disgust. He then turned his back on Loki, looking towards Meru again. He gave a curt nod. "Do it."

Loki sighed. "I don't like people who don't do what I say. Go away, now."

Lyserg turned towards him angrily. "Oh, shut up. We'll kill you later, I told you already."

Meru sighed. She whispered in a shakey voice. "Gus... Gus, I'm sorry..."

Gus still had the same confused look in his eyes. He shook his head, wide eyes staring. "Meru...?"

Biggs stared up at them. "Geo... Geo, why isn't he running away? Why is he just standing there?"

Geo's eye started to twitch. "I... well, I have no clue... I guess... I guess, he just can't manage to believe his old friend is doing this..."

Loki's eyes flashed. "DO WHAT I SAY, DAMMIT!"

Lyserg stared at him coolley. "I've had enough of you. Just shut up for a second, I'll kill you myself soon enough." He turned to Meru. "What's taking you so long, bitch? Is there a reason why you're stalling God's will?"

Akio looked away. He knew what she was going through, and he felt sad for her. "Lyserg-sama..."

"I have to do this. God has ordered, and I must comply..."

She leveled the gun. Closed her eyes. And...

"Put it down, Meru."

She looked back, to find an amazing sight. Akio stood, blank-faced, staring at Meru oddly. Lyserg was struggling. This was because Geo's arm was hooked around his neck, and holding a small black handgun to his head. Lyserg's eyes were wide, and he looked at Meru pleadingly. He spoke in a hoarse voice. "Do... what he says..."

She dropped the gun. Gus dusted off his coat, and looked over happily. "Ooh, nice. Biggs in Akio, and Geo... heh, I dropped it, did I? Be careful with that, it'll jump at the chance to kill more X-Laws."

And it would, too. For the black gun in Geo's hand bore a small red insignia. The sign of the Marduks.
