Dana Carvey is my favorite SNL castmember; he was on from 1986 - 1992. (I'm an SNL junkie so be warned.) Have you seen Wayne's World? He's Garth Algar. He didn't really do much after SNL, because he was nearly 40 when he ended his tenure and wanted to spend time with his kids...

But he originated the Church Lady, Hans and Franz, Garth (of course), one of the two restaraunt waiters (The Pepperboy sketch... is my favorite of ALL FREAKING TIME)... the list goes on.

It's depressing you didn't go to AX. It was a great con. It was my first time going, and I learned that dressing as Ranma wouldn't get me recognized because most anime fans don't even know what Ranma 1/2 is.

Haha. I'm auditioning for my school's improv team at the start of the school year... I just love comedy for whatever reason. Like, right now, I'm writing a story called "Straightjacket", about this girl in a mental institution. Problem is, SHE'S the normal one. Her friends are the insane ones... let's just say the most normal characters are the teenaged gay couple who spend most of the novel dancing to music in the background of scenes.

I haven't been reading the new Mankin chapters. It's one of the few mangas I like reading as it comes out in the US. Gives me something to look forward to.

Although I did read the Funbari short story. You know, the one with Hana. Why the hell was Ren on a mountain? So weird.

Yes, it's gotta be the summer thing; the most recent posts have been from June, with like, months of inactivity before that. Where has the insanity gone? The pepsi-salad wars? Godammmit.

Where are the US volumes now, plot wise? I'm up to date with the latest chapters (it's like, what, the second to last chapter. Wow. It's finally going to end.) but I don't know where they are in the US.

And, I suspect Ren lives in a mountainous region..? What I'm curious about is the pillowcase on his head.

The US just released volume 23. I know it's a ways behind, but I just don't feel right reading the scanlations for some reason. Viz is doing a good job with all the philosophical things, they really are.

I do wish more people came here. I don't know how to bring them back though...

Yeah, the pillowcase is a bit weird. The whole Ren picture was just bizarre. I couldn't figure that one out for the life of me.

Yeah, it is a bit weird. :] Though Renluver's told me that they've released new illustrations of the older-version Mankin characters; haven't seen them yet, though, I'll have to bug her for them. Apparently, they're different than how they look in Funbari no Uta...?
