I figured this was the place to put this thread since the subject matter has nothing to do with anime or manga...(And thanks to MetaKnight for the idea)
The Topic: Name the movie you absolutely adore and would watch every waking hour if you could. I was going for Non-animated movies, but if your movie is animated don't be shy...
Many people have lists of favorite movies, but I mean a movie that moves you. Perhaps its a movie that cheers you up when you're down, or the one that always lingers in your mind hours after you've seen it. You may give more than one movie for this, but please limit it to five because I'd like for you to explain why you love the movie so much or what attachment you have to it.
There are 2 simple reasons for me starting this thread:
1. A desperate attempt to block out what's happening right now in my "real world" (maybe if I close my eyes it will disappear?)
2. We can learn a great deal about someone just by what movies they watch. There are so many new members on the board now, and old members I don't know anything about; perhaps we can discover we have something in common...
Oh and another thing: don't list a movie unless you absolutely love it. If you give a movie you kind of like, your reason for it will suck. Okay, I've ran on enough. Please for the sake of my sanity, humor me...

The first three Star Wars movies, hands down.
And by 'first three', I mean "A New Hope", "Empire Strikes Back", and "Return of the Jedi".
Everything about those movies is just great. In addition, just think about how many Star Wars references, paraodies, jokes and whatnot you've seen or heard from other movies, TV shows, and Internet stuff. ('Spaceballs' is teh best!)

Let's see, I would go with a tie between 'Raiders of the Lost Arc', 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' (Temple of d00m' sucked imo) and... The first three Star Wars movies, hands down. And by 'first three', I mean "A New Hope", "Empire Strikes Back", and "Return of the Jedi". I also think thoes were so great... The new three just kind of suck, 'Episode III' wasn't too bad. But 'Ep. 1' was just horrible... IT IS!!!!!!! EDIT: I just have to say, 'Pulp Fiction' is also a good movie...

Not even gonna mention "Attack of the Clones" are ya? ^ _ ^ It was in the middle for me... (middle of ep. 1 and ep. 3...) I just didn't feel it worth mentioning.

Man... this is hard...
I guess that the movie that moved me the most was Remember the Titans. I mean, how those boys all came together despite the fact that the world was tearing them apart was really moving.

Heh heh, a movie that I absolutely love is The Three Amigo's. Goofy comedy at its very best. That movie had some great lines, one of my favorites being the "insult", "You son of a motherless goat!" Mwaha ^^. Other movies that I really love is the movie The mask of Zorro and Zorro the Gay Blade. The first reason I like both movies is because I uh... have a Zorro fixation ^^; . The other reasons, is that for The Gay Blade, that movie is just frikin' hillarious. For The Mask of Zorro, that movie is just frikin' cool .

I only saw a small blurb of Bowling for Columbine though... I also love two other movies, X-Men 2 (first they had to protect the people that hated them, now they have to protect themselves from the people who hate them! And Nightcrawler brought up some really moving points: Storm: Some times anger can help you survive... Nightcrawler: So can faith. The other one is Star Trek: First Contact)

These are all very interesting movies you've chosen. Here are a few of mine:
American History X: This movie is down right depressing. It's one of those movies you can't bear to watch, but for some reason you can't seem to turn off. I've seen it too many times. It teaches too important lessons. 1.Anyone and everyone has the ability to change. 2.There are always consequences for our actions even when we change for better.
The Lord of the Rings/ Star Wars: I put these together because I like them for the same reason. I love epics, and I love movies about fighting for the good of mankind (but not the sappy stuff). It's endearing to see characters willing to sacrifice their lives for honor or for the good of the world. That's why I loved Gladiator so much; it would fall in this category.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: This movie is amazingly beautiful. I will only watch it with the English subtitles. I'm a sucker for movies of this nature, so I've seen House of Flying Daggers, Hero, The Road Home, and other movies in the category. This one has always stood out because it's not just a mindless movie about a bunch of people skilled in martial arts. It has a plot.
The Lion King: This is on of the only animated movies I revere as great. Don't get me wrong, I've seen many wonderful American animated films, but this one moved me. That girl you heard wailing in the back when Simba was trying to wake Mufasa up in the gorge? Yeah, that was me...
And, keeping to my own rule (cause I have more than 5)
The Color Purple: This movie is significant because I hated it the first 7 times I was forced to watch it. The 8th time was in my house alone one night, and I was sick. I remember being unable to stop crying. I'm not usually a crier in watching movies, but while watching this one memories of my childhood, incidents I had forgotten, and special events all knocked me in the face at one moment. I had a migraine from all of the crying. It was almost like therapy.
And now I shall go back to work...

Pirates of the Caribbean: History is my biggest love, combine it with adventure and humor and you get one of my favorite movies Titanic: Everyone complains it's overrated, but I think it's sweet and tragic, and it's great for a good cry. I've seen it numerous times and I still cry each time. Newsies: Once again, history, but I also love Newsies for it's music and the fact that it's both uplifting and fun. But I'm A Cheerleader!: One of my favorite gay/lesbian themed movies. It manages to be funny, romantic, and sad at the same time. Gone With the Wind: Incredible characters, beautiful costumes and sets, and it's totally timeless. It's the sort of movie I can sit down and watch with my mother and grandmother and friends at the same time, and have everyone enjoy it.

1. Pulp Fiction 2. Reservoir dogs Super awesome movies, both of them. I also liked Jackie Brown (the ending especially), and Kill Bill (it would've been soo much better as a whole... Damn Disney) Pirates of the Caribbean was a good movie also, can't wait for it's sequel "Dead Man's Chest". I just hope it won't be another one of Disney's bullshit suck-ass sequels... Lord of the Rings movies (the new ones, not the cartoon versions, they sucked) What can I say? A perfect cast, and 4 hour long movies!
