The beta AIM doesn't override your old AIM. So even if you download it, you can still use the AIM you originally had. Basically, like having two AIMs. O.o

So, I guess I'll join in, but I'll probably be whispering alot. I'm very paranoid, and don't really want my dad to hear. But my (new)sn is really easy to remember, it's "throes2" since Throes was already taken... Bastard...

That chat was terrifying. I had fun talking with Lovely through text, though. I think I made everybody uncomfortable by bringing up Futa and Loli. Not my fault they're cool subjects. xD

OK! Did a few tests (which would of been more sucessful if someone would of spoken... VAS)
Ah well, it was fun if a bit disturbing.
Sorry, if not everyone was able to participate. After 9:45 or so, I stopped paying attention to this topic, So I didn't notice the additional screenames. Sorry! Maybe next time ^^ .
Basic rundown.
Start: 9:30pm End (for Lovely): 11:17pm
I got unto AIM at pretty much 9:30pm Eastern time, HOWEVER, I couldn't figure out how to make a group voice chat ^^;. I had to get Res to help me out ^^;.
Started inviting people in at 9:40pm-ish. Once again, with Res' help.
In the begining, the chat was incredibly loud and disconcerting due to massive echo's. Soon, SOME of us learned that headphones were the way to go. Another hinderance to the chat was someone had a phone right up to the mic. The phone voice was louder than all the other voices so it was kind of painful to the ears.
Oh yea, and apparently I type kind of loud. Or my mic picks up the typing noise more than it picks up other noises. I can't type any softer though! I just type kind of fast and it turns out that way! Maybe it's my keyboard. ....Actually, it could be the keyboard.... It is kind of a cheap one...
SO. What have we learned?
1- Headphones. If EVERYONE uses headphones it effectively stops the echo effect. (The echo effect is because someone's mic will pick up the sound of our own voices and bounce it back to us. The headphones stop the mic's from picking up other voices beyond our own.)
2- Phone put up to a mic.... Sorry, but it's just way too loud and the quality is bad. It ends up making a lot of noise that is just hard to understand ^^;.
3- I type loud. ;_; ....
4: Boys are shyer than girls. Apparently. That, or we girls just tend to babble aloud when nervous ^^;.
All in all, it was a lot of fun and I wouldn't mind trying it again sometime. Again, thanks to all who participated! And once again, I would like to appologise for babbling, being boring, and typing loud.
Thanks again, and good night!
(next time, maybe we should have a topic or somethin'....)
Oh, and finally, I THINK people without mic's can here the mic conversations on their speakers just fine. Not sure about this though.
Anyhoo, everyone please comment and add your own thoughts and observations. Thanks.

Oh yeah, and Mata couldn't log in for some reason. (well, I saw some of the reasons in her journal post.) Yeah, the AOL browser isn't cool. And the beta had some lil' annoyances here and there (and the site is hard to navigate because all of the slow and unnecesarry flash.) And yeah, I hear with certain Firewalls that the AOL beta chat gets buggy. So that could explain a few things. My appologies Mata. We could of chatted about Shadow Hearts.... Anyways, Mata. If you want, you can suggest some other programs that have group chat and we'll try those out . I hear G-mail has a chat thing that supposed to work fairly well.... EDIT: Oh yeah, one more thing Mata. I totally understand your frusteration and anger when a program won't work. I can't get i-tunes and RPG Maker or FFXI to work on my current computer. ;_; .... So trust me, I feel your pain.

Dx Oh god, FFXI, [insert angry flashback here] Then there's WoW... Everquest...the list goes on... xD; Sorry about that, I just needed to vent. Dun mind it. All it took was that and me just bashing my head on my dictionary. Thanks for the empathy Lovely XD I took my firewall down because of AIM and Spyware came running in. Along with a horde of pr0n. ><; ;_; And I could've annoyed you with my idiotic 'WHY M WHY?!' rants on SH1. =D;; : D;; Sorry for venting, especially on you Resurie xD; *stares at the 'Validating' screen of AIM beta* I can will it to explode, I can will it to explode, I can will it to explode... C'mooooon psychokinetics.... As for programs with group voice, all I know of is Yahoo Messenger =D;; There's no need to go and experiment. XD Stick with Aim. Because I'm anti-social like that

Well....It's not my fault...
I was just trying to talk at level so that adjacet parental unit would'nt come in bitchy ;_;
...But I'll admit that I was a wee-bit shaken when I heard the words "male" and "bondage" in succesion.
I'll have to give it another shot some other time though...

AOL sucks. >.>; That's why I have two screennames. One for AOL and one for AIM. xD;
Yea...All in all the chat was fun. I agree with Lovely- HEADPHONES, PEOPLE. The echos are still ringing in my ears. e.e;
Nah, I was quiet too. I only said 12 words the whole time. xD; ...Which is more than Vas said...>.>;
...Hm...I got kicked out of the chat at about 11. >.>; res tried inviting me back twice but it never got through. I don't know if it was my computer or AIM itself, but..yea. After a while I decided to just give up and sign off because FMA was coming on. xD
And Lovely, I don't think you type loud or hard. I think it was just your mic. ^^; I type just as loud, but you couldn't hear with all the screaming and echoing and whatnot. xD;
