It was a pretty good epp but... A thing that bothered me a bit was Lyserg's voice gave me pokemon flash backs... I't souned a little bit like Ash 0.o
I did howerever like looking at Lyserg XD
Also I loved Ryu's little song at the end

Ya know s91...I was gonna say that too...it sounded like a raspy Ash voice at first.

Great ep.Yea, Lyserg's voice sounded a little like ash   But I think the best parts are Ryu's song at the end and when Ryu thinks Lyserg a girl!!XD Laughed sooo hard!!! |

Bad news everyone. In my area Shaman King is shown on Sundays. However, we are expecting (yet another) huricane TONIGHT (Sat Night). Now, so far, everytime we are hit with a hurricane my power goes out. Soooo, while I HATE to admit it, there is a good chance that I won't have power tomorrow. This means, that I won't have power to either watch this week's Shaman King episode or to tape it. This means, no episode comparison. I'm truely sorry, and I'm hoping that we DON'T loose power, but.... EDIT: Oh yes, but if you would like to see a quick list of edits. You can always go to SKU's affiliate site Shaman King Nation and look in thier "dub cuts" section. (It's recently become SKU's affiliate site, but they still don't have me listed as an affiliate yet ^^;...) |

Watching the end of the episode, the few seconds before Ryu breaks into that goofy song, I was expecting one of those typical happy Japanese songs with a female singing as it moves onto the ending credits. But instead it breaks out into Ryu's hideous singing (without any credits...thanks 4kids *rolls eyes*). I should have expected it, but I was expecting something else...so I guess it made it a little more amusing for me...Although it could have just been the long week of work messing with my head again...
edit...sheesh Lovely...you Floridians have just been completely unlucky with the hurricane season this year. I hope you make it through this one too.

more hurricanes? damn...my brother lives in miami...he and his friends are probably drinking and joking about it T_T... now for the episode....NO!! they rewrote the E.T. joke!! curse them!! at least they kept the part where ryu thinks lysergs a girl XD. also....they cut out lysergs parents all dead on floor....and they made -zeke- laughing madly in the fire...T_T. for some reason they cut out the part where lyserg grabs hao by the shoulder...  . one last thing...ive wondered...is lysergs name pronouned lee-serg or lie-serg like in the dub...see i only have the spanish version and they pronounce it lee-serg. if any one can tell me how they say it in jap. |

Hi this is my first time on the boards... and I just finished watching all of Shaman King Japanese uncut for the first time today so my dub-comparison interest has kicked in.
Now, I rather like Lyserg most of the time ... *beats Marco up*... so I had to watch the dub of this ep. I knew there was trouble when they had him saying horrible jokes as he attacked the three ridiculous Shaman in the beginning of the episode.
Wasn't keen on him being called "Lie-serg" ... "with a 'Y'" as dub Lyserg added... granted, in English that's how it is supposed to be pronounced but I prefer "Lee-serg". I didn't mind his voice too much.
The "Lyserg looks like a girl" thing was even more confusing than the original was... (he doesn't look like a girl... he's just... wimpy looking ^_^) I am so shocked they kept all the Ryu-Lyserg love stuff.. including the walk into the other room.
Somehow, hearing "He looks just like Zeke!?" does not make me have any fear over Hao... I rather liked how in the original flashback Hao saw Lyserg and said "How Small"... which would further push Lyserg's obsession with being strong or finding strong shaman.
Morphin = Chloe... wtf?! ~_~ Why do these dub companies like to give characters Beverly Hills-type names?! O.o;;;;
...*cough* I really liked Ryu's little song at the end... it's so... weird that he has that Latino accent (apparently anyone who is Latino wears a leisure suit)... and yet... his actor really can act so I'm fine with it. ;p

I have absolutely no qualms about the name change. Morphin is a TERRIBLE name for a fairy. The name joke isn't funny matched up with those two...if the characters were from America and their characters were more related to the origins of the drugs...okay, it still wouldn't be funny...I don't understand why people on the boards are upset about this change. Chloe is not a bad name...something more british is the only thing that would suit both characters better. Sorry to whack you on your first post Scortia, but there were some others complaining about the name change 5 months ago and I think it's absurd. The name change is for the better...the joke was bad... LC |

I believe Lyserg was voiced by Amy Birnbaum, as far as my ears can tell. But I'll look it up anyway, just in case.
I don't really mind the alternate pronouciation of Lyserg's name, really. To be honest, I actually pronounced it as 'Lai-serg' before I found out it was really 'Ri-ze-ru-gu'. :P
Chloe's not a bad name either. I actually kind of like it.
Ryu's song was great! It had me cracking up for a while! xD

I unfortunately never saw the sub versrion of Shaman King.  Forgive me!!! I still like Horohoro's line: "That's not a damsel, that's a dude!" ;D Keeps me lauging for hours... Scarey thought - I think you migtht live near me, Lovely, because I watch Shaman King on Sundays too. Small world, huh? |

ok i just remembered this! little late though but who cares! in the scene where lyserg jumps out of the um..broken wall after yoh and the others, you see a shot of ryu say something, in the original he simply says: "lyserg..."..but in the dub....i could've sworn i heard rio say: "oh my God..."  if any one has it on tape, please see if he really does say it. i know im making a big deal out of it, but isnt "God" a big no no word on 4kids behalf? i mean, they dont say it in episode 4...yet here they do? that is, if they do...o_0 this reminds me of the cardcaptors episode in the museum where the guard says : "i am the god of this museum!" |

You should see Yu-Gi-Oh Battle City... almost every other line is "The Egyptian God cards!" |
