Luchist's Cross was edited.
Our freindly Patch Times was edited to Dobie Times, and our
freindly ad for Patch "Dobie" Protein was given pants. Also, "Scandal!" was changed to "Celeb Sighting" Also, if you look carefully, without zooming in, you can see that 4kids forgot to edit the "PATCH TIMES" from the upper left hand corner of the paper.
As expected,
"PATCH PATCH" was changed to "Patch Cafe" <-- Lovely can use
this screenshot for one of her earlier comparisons (Episode 45)
The nice
Ad on Yoh's shirt was edited out in all instances.
Example 2The text on
Ryu's glass was not edited.
Chocolove's Rock joke was pretty much edited out (exept for the rock, they could've done a better job with it)
Ryu's
cross shaped medallion was wiped off his shirt. (I chose this shot because of how damn funny that face is XD)
They changed Ren's dialouge a little in this scene.
Nipple shaped rings were erased from Horohoro's big oversoul.
Team Spirit doesn't work with the
Funbari Onsen background, even if all text was badly copy-pasted over.
The dialouge/
text "Spirit of the REN!" was changed to "Len the great, and company" 4kids is just not making these things funny. Their phony background music doesn't help much either. Another thing edited from this is the funny sparkles. Why, I just don't know.
4kids: Sparkles are the sign of the devil!
They changed the plot a little by saying that they came up with the same idea's and the other team stole their idea.
They also changed the idea that they only appeared weak on the outside.
Another prediction came true was the text on the
animal's hat to the left of Mikihisa was wiped.
Example 2More dialouge edits, they basically changed the part where Mikihisa got in the way of the practice fight to stop it, to Mikihisa telling the two teams to "defend themselves".
Also, when the two creatures ran over their makeshift assembly of three, they were origionally wondering what's going on, in the dub they were saying things like, "GET IT!"
More changed dialouge to cover up past "mistakes".
They changed the name of "something" to the name of the "person", but this doesn't work, because Bason, Eliza, and Kororo (Corey) are spirits, not technically a person.
They also changed the dialouge when Faust is trying to spell Eliza to "I got the first letter, do you think it's enough?" From, "This is harder than preforming an operation." At that point in time when he said that, he technically didn't have any letters.
Also, they changed the dialouge a little when Yoh is writing on his rice.
They also changed Ryu's special thing from Lyserg, to Yoh. (Probably because of the drug reference)
The names on the
grain's of rice were changed a little, and the order in which they were was also changed. I also find it corny how it appears all charachters in the dub have the exact same handwriting, while you can see in the japanese version that they were different. (it's interesting to note that in the dub there were three spirits on the grains of rice when the objective was to write the name of the most important person)
4kids forgot to edit Ryu for
this scene... They are very sloppy editors. (7-10 sec)
The dialouge was changed a bit, in the origional Mikihisa said that a normal person would be able to find the rice if they had paitence, and that they were not normap people, but Shamans.
In the origional Anna said, "If you're men, stop whining, and get going!", in the dub she said, "There's only one way to deal with these boys."
Way too much dialouge was changed in the part where they're actually looking for the rice to comment on. But I will say that the
first piece of rice was changed from Jun to Bason arbitrarily. The
second one stayed the same. It seems 4kids is falling back into old habits.
Horohoro's snowboard origionally had a
graphic image on it.
In the origional, Mikihisa said that the match would be fought differently, and that it was part of their training. In the dub, he said, "Fight this next match without "giant spirit control", trust me it's the only way."
This short scene was cut (2-3 sec)
As always, Sally's shirt has been edited.
In the origional Lily Five never pondered about what their new team name would be, they're just the Lily five all the way through.

In the origional they said they were being seeded, apparently that doesn't exist in 4kids dub world...

Instead of replacing the text, they just
wiped it clean from the charts, they could've at least replaced it like they did before. It's just another way of showing 4kids is lazy.
When Ren, Choco, and Horo are looking for their rice and fall asleep, they were origoinally determined to find the rice, and they ended up passing out, in the dub, they kinda fell asleep.
The
sign announcing the matchup was translated.
As expected, the
Y, R, and B. Letters were wiped off Ocean Three's team. They also changed their voices into horrible crappy, never needed to be heard voices, kinda like they did to One Piece. It also looks like they made Ocean Three's team members gay. (In a very steriotypical way) Dialouge was changed.
Example 2Jeez, tons of dialouge was edited to hide the fact that 4kids edited out all instances of Funbari Hot Springs. They just made it seem wrong.
At least they kept the amusing sound while they were hitting the giant oversoul from the origonal.
They changed more dialouge, I'm really going to only mention it now, and wait for Lovely to come up with an official comparison, this is only a quickie.
They cut alot of dialouge from between Ryu, Choco, and Faust, and made someone (sounding like Horohoro's dub voice) say "AGAIN!" in the background.
In the origional Ryu wasn't thinking of what he will do, he was singing his "Blue sky is in the sun" song
They cut the dialouge saying that Ryu was no longer able to oversoul, and was disqualified.
In the origional Ren made the swords come out of the ground because he thought that looking for rice was not training. In the dub, it made it seem like he was trying to manifest the rice.
They added dialouge for after Hao left the arena.
Again,
"PATCH PATCH" was changed to "Patch Cafe"More dialouge edits to correspond with the fact that the dub never mentioned that Lily five was being seeded.
In the dub Rio said, "I am sorry to have disappointed my teammates" when in the origional he merely asked where Mikihisa had gone.
It's funny that if you listen, in the dub, Anna orders "Health food, Hamburgers, fries, milk shakes, etc."
Some more dialouge was changed between Lily Five.
They changed
Lily five's name into "Tre's magifique". Which is interesting, because they seem to have trouble with japanese text, but don't have a problem with french text. Weird.
A blur of
Luchists cross was left in the dub. This one's kina hard to see on the dub version, but it's there.
After this episode, it seems the editors at 4kids need an english lesson. *referring to the healthy junk food*
