Ah! I'm late-
This episode definately had it's moments. I've grown quite a liking for the Lilly5.
There was a really nice shot of Hao, when he and Yoh were talking. Other than that, I found the quality of the animation was kind of lacking...
Silva, as always, brought a smile to my face. :]
I don't want to risk sounding repetitive, so I'll leave it at that!
And about the Season Finale.. poor Morphin. ;_;

I don't get it. There's only two seasons. Damn 4kids and their strange ways. Well, I didn't watch the episode, simply because I didn't feel like it. ^_^ That's right, I'm obsessing over Naruto so much, I didn't want to watch SK-- GASPTH. O.o That is all.

Okay, something here appears to be overlooked.
season finale does NOT mean shaman king is going of the air.
the ninja turtles have had like, five season finales. It just means they're taking a break in producing them to show reruns and finish up dubbing the next wave of episodes.
which is actually kinda logical, considering the first season break was at like, episode 23 or so... so they're deviding it up into more-or-less thirds.
THERE WILL BE MORE MANKIN!
just... probablly airing this FALL.

I just checked the TV guide and this message applies to people in Southern California and other areas. The season finale of Shaman King next week on May 1st will not be on due to NASCAR. But the episode will be shown for those that are affected by this again on the next day, May 2nd at 4:30 AM in the morning. Check local listings to confirm.
About the episode, I thought it was cool that Ren got a black eye. I also like how Yoh was hit by Millie's spirit.
And according to TV tome, on May 7th, a show called Alien Racers, will be taking to place of Shaman King at 11:30, so that probably means that their will be no more shaman king for the summer? I am not sure. If they do that, I hope they finish the season off next fall.

There were things I was surprised with on this episode, and there were things I wasn't... and, since I don't have to spoil tag anything, I'm gonna type out all my thoughts (via the original episode):
Pre-Title Card footaged changed to "previously on Shaman King" (as usual). I haven't seen 52, so I don't know if this was actually footage in 52 or not.
Hoshigumi changed to Team Star. Works.
I think the shot of Hao from 52 was cut from this scene
There were MANY different ways of saying "kill" (or quitting and not being killed) in this episode... let's see... destroy, no longer alive, survive... I can't remember them all... but I think each time they used a different phrase.
I seem to remember Anna telling the boys not to do anything in the scene directly after the OP/Title Card (depending on your version), but she doesn't originally.
In the dub, Ren doesn't say that he doesn't consider looking for the rice as training (I think he just calls it stupid).
In the dub, after Mikihisa tells them off, Ren-tachi seem to go back out to look for the rice in a different area (or at least get away from him). In the original, Ren says he's going back to the hotel, and the others follow.
In the dub, Sharona says that she and Sally will be fighting, and asks for the third. In the original, she simply asks for the three, and only Sally raises her hand.
Lilly, Milly, and Elly never say what they're imagining, you just get that they can't imagine they're winning.
Lilly 5's team name changed to "Tres Magnifique".
Originally, they just shouted "yay!" and "victory!" and such, not comments when they imagined beating Hao.
Hao already knew in the original that the Lilly 5 were weak, Yoh didn't tell him like in the dub.
In the original, Yoh wasn't sneaking away. The others just wanted to help Yoh.
Also, in the dub, Yoh never pointed out to the Lily 5 that Hao was stronger than Yoh's oversoul.
In the original, Ren and the others' argument was Ren getting them mad, so it might be good training to fight. The dub made it out to be just a fight brewing.
Also, there were never "terms of winning" between Ren and Mikihisa. He just said that Ren wouldn't listen to him if he didn't fight him.
As was pointed out already, originally, all they had to do was hit Yoh once.
When the dub had "Morty" asking Anna if Yoh would really hurt them, originally he was asking if Yoh was being serious.
**sob** my poor BGM...
No, the "I'm seeing double" "I'm seeing triple" line isn't there.
The Mikihisa doubles being impaled was cut... and originally, Chocolove and Horohoro didn't complain that they were almost hit.
Sharona wasn't Belle's babysitter. In fact, I'm actually questioning the dub's choice of using "babysitter," as Belle looks around the same age as Sharona.
Asside from the letters being changed, the lettering's alignment on Elly's jumper was also changed, from diagonal (lower left to upper right) to across.
Of course, there was originally kanji on Lilly's blackboard... and the dub added dialogue there, too.
Again, the level of furyoku the participants have is not mentioned in the dub (Sharona tells Yoh that all of them together couldn't match Yoh's furyoku originally).
I cannot for the life of me find Ren's Chuka Zanmai / Rapid Tempo Assault attack scene in the original... but I believe that the dub was joking with the original's fans with the "ever-lengthening attack name" (originally, Ren started with Chuka Zanmai, went to Golden Chuka Zanmai, Chou [Super] Golden Chuka Zanmai, and then Hyper Chou Golden Chuka Zanmai, or something like that).
Originally, the Lilly 5 were yelling "banzai," not spelling their team name.
Anna's only comment to them was that they had to use that attack with 3 people, not that they had spent all their furyoku.
Also, originally it was before the "fight vs. Hao" that Anna mentioned that they could be a "legend."
I don't remember correctly, but I don't think dub Sharona said that they were hoping someone would stop them.
Originally, it was Sharona who suggested they stay and watch the rest of the matches, not Silva (although he did have his "Patch loves visitors" line).
And, of course, the end of this conversation was changed. Originally, Milly said that she could become the wife of the Shaman King. The reason Anna was blushing? Because she was pointing out that Yoh would be Shaman King, and, therefore, she would be the wife of the Shaman King.
The rice scene was messed up, as I thought. Originally, Yoh and Ren didn't find their own rice, they found Horohoro and Chocolove's.
As for further episodes... THIS should've been the season finale. Episode 54 is the start of the end, pretty much. Everything from here on out leads directly into everything else. In fact, 54 is the only one that really has an end to the episode. The rest flow so smoothly that if it weren't for OP/ED, I'd be able to watch them as a movie.
Also, this was the last of the light-hearted episodes. From here on out, they are not happy in any way, shape, or form. I know a lot of you won't like hearing this, but, given they're track record for translating really important, not-happy episodes, I'd say that those who haven't seen the original would be better off having those of us who have give you a detailed description of events, rather than having them dubbed. It's not gonna happen well, and I know that my favorite two scenes in the series (episodes 58 and 60) won't be translated accurately at all.

dessa: another way they replaced the word "kill, dead, ect" was sharona saying that they'll turn hao into worm food/chow.

With all this dancing around death 4kids is using, I'm surprised they haven't used "This charachter will be taking a dirt nap." At least I haven't heard it, but with my super short attention span, who knows.

With all the different words for death, I'm kind of thinking the writers realised how ridiculous the whole "not saying dead" thing is and decided to just have fun with it. *laughs*.
Oh, and what Dessa said is right. The last chunk of episodes are crazy and VERY fast moving (some say it's kind of rushed, which it might be, Shaman King wasn't getting the best ratings in Japan apparently.) Maybe 4kids is just gonna hack and splice 'em all together and make a t.v movie or something *shrugs*.

As I was mentioning to a few... 4kids do plan to make the last few episodes of Kirby into a DVD movie. So, I guess there is a possibility. Companies love extra sales XD.
The real question is, how are they going to dub these episodes. From the little "next season" thing at the end of the first season it appeard as though they already finished dubbing it, although, I assume that is unlikily if I look back on it. How would they dub episodes that are serious (and apparently hard to edit) into a movie, without making it a fairly acurate dub of the original. If they can't sugar coat it, what will they do, will they try? Will they make the movie PG-13, so many questions, so little things to actually go by >_</

One of my favorite moments in the episode! ~~ (Ren attacking Mikihisa) Ren: RAPID TEMPO ASSAULT! Mikihisa: (dodges it) Ren: SUPER RAPID TEMPO ASSAULT!! Mikihisa: (dodges it) Ren: ULTIMATE RAPID TEMPO ASSAULT!!! Mikihisa: (dodges it) Ren: ULTIMATE SUPER RAPID TEMPO ASSAULT!!!! Mikihisa: (dodges it) ~~ Ah, I forgot to mention this scene before, I loved it. I don't care if it's not the 'correct' translation of the attack, I just like how Len calls out 'Rapid Tempo Assault!'. And typing that makes me realize that I want a sound clip of it now... ^-^;

Were they the same in the original? -I like the hamster ^^ -I liked Yoh's lines when he was battling the Lilly-5 -Mikihisa's battle outfit is SWEET! -I was completely expecting them to have found the wrong grains of rice! -"The SoF is eating Millie!"
