I'm new here, and I have some questions. ^^

Hi everyone!

I've been a Shaman King fan since the show first started here in the UK on April 3, 2004. ^^

I've seen up to ep 52 (I think- as far as Jetix have shown), and I'm annoyed they didn't finish it! Stupid reruns!

I just got Vol. 1 of the manga last week, and I ordered Vol. 2.

Oh yeah! My questions. XD

Does the manga go further than the TV series, or does it just add in lots of stuff inbetween?

Actually, that's about the only question I have. ^^

The manga is longer that the anime. It has 32 volumes. The manga is longer because the anime was made when it was still being published, so the manga never caught up to the anime (or the other way around....o_0), so the anime had to make up it's own thing as it went along.

So, the manga and anime differ a lot at a certain point. I think it starts changing after they reach america. There's also that fact the two have very different endings. The anime ending was sort of rushed...the manga ending was abrupt. In other words, Takei never finished it, so no one knows the manga ending.

All we know is that Hao wears a dress. ^_^

Yeah its a shame they didn't get to the end. However I kinda expected it to end with 52. 52 is two lots of 26, which is the number of episodes most shows seem to run for. This doesn't apply to SK of course but that doesn't stop Jetix from treating as if it did.

In fact I think we were lucky to get up to 52, I really expected it to go up to 39 and then start to repeat. Thats the normal pattern, half a new season of shows then repeats for a month or two before they finally show the newer Eps.

Plus if it ends to soon there will be nothing left to watch, very little anime on UK tv Reminds me gotta check out Rave Master, the first new Anime we've had on TV for about a year now (new eps of SK and Yugi excluded)

I have a feeling the UK will get the last episodes. Maybe they didn't realize how soon they were coming up on the ending.

The U.S. did show reruns for a month after reaching 39. I expect it to finish in the fall. I don't see it being run through to the end from here. They will have to show more reruns again before it's over.

Oh, and another thing...

Why did Len (sorry, I'm more used to the dub than the raw, having only seen one Japanese ep ^^ stop wearing shorts?!

I'm a shorts fan, that's why I like Len so much. And his hair. XD

So, as for the manga, Viz have only done volumes 1-5 so far, haven't they?

...looks like I'll be collecting them for many years to come. XD

So, does the anime end at a certain point in the manga, or is it a totally alternate end? I heard the anime had a sorta inconclusive end, so that would probably be so that it doesn't conflict with the manga, right?

And well, the anime ends on it's own. It doesn't follow any certain point of the manga. As Resurie said, the manga has 32 volumes.


And as for English manga collectors.... -_-; How do you manage to BUY those?! They're around 9 -14 dollars a pop! *coughInuyashacough* Or I might be wrong... ;D

$7.95 U.S. It's really not that much considering how long it takes for a new volume to come out. They only release like 3 or 4 volume's a year. That's only like $28 to $32 a year. That's less than it costs for one new Video Game here.

It's a much cheaper obsession! ^^;

I can't buy english manga, because you can't buy jack-sh*t in Nikakaka (<--Nicaragua's nickname. >P). And my videogames cost $90! So..um...hmph!

Yeah that was pointless...and Matamune, of course I saw it. XD I am the Hao fangirl. I must have and know everything of Hao-sama. >D

So, when you say 32 volumes, do you mean, 32 200-page books?

If that's the case, I'll be collecting those books until I'm 25. XD

Then again, I bet Viz will probably stop half-way or something, when there's no market for it anymore... knowing my luck....

Don't give me any direct spoilers please, but can you tell me how well the whole Lyserg/X-Laws thing is resolved in the anime?

I used to like Lyserg a lot, until he joined those idiots. ><
