im sure everyone here knows about the movies The Ring and the new one The Grudge...well, i was wondering if anyone here knew that both of these movies were originally japanese movies, both created by the same guy (gah..i forgot his name...) also, the japanese versions had two movies each despite the fact my cable company is evil, theres a nice little movie channel Cinemax. they have aired all four movies, ive seen them all...cept for the first one of the grudge..missed it...>< i just saw the second last night...it was called Ju-On The Grudge 2, and the movie gave a little handy note on what Ju-On means...if i remember...: its when someone dies, and they haunt you for revenge...or something like that.... my point is what i mentioned above, if anyone knew this, and also, if anyone else has seen them? i havent seen the american grudge...so i cant make a comparison of it...but i can with the ring! if you want i can tell you the differences....*cough* the american movie is kinda...off... one last thing, ide just like to comment on how the originals, though old, were alot better and much more freakier... people...like...twitched when they walked...a lot....anyways... man, this post is long... anyways... comments?.....

I've downloaded Ju-on on my computer, but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet, although I have seen Ringu. I haven't seen The Ring, but don't really have any intentions of watching it. I don't understand why so many people think Ringu was so scary....sure, there were a few parts that made me jump (especially whenever they would suddenly show a dead body), but it felt more like a mystery thriller than a "horror" movie to me. Ignoring the non-scariness of it, I thought it had a very good plot and its at least interested me enough in watching the other movies.
There's actually about three or four other Ringu movies. Ringu, Ringu 2, Ringu 0, and The Spiral, but The Spirial was de-canonized from the storyline because it was so awful. Both the original Ringu novels and the manga are also now available in English and I really want to read them, especially the novels. Now I just have to hope they'll release an English subbed version of the Ringu tvseries.
