Yoh is sent to the comic market (an annual convention where doujinshi is sold in Japan) to get doujinshi for Anna. He catches a glimpse of a Amidaru/Mosuke book. Yoh: "Can you believe this? They're taking your legend and completely twisting it around..." Amidaru turns bright red and looks away. "Umm...." Yoh:"?" Amidaru: "Welllllllll, samurai culture was more accepting..." Yoh looks at him blankly. Amidaru: "Remember the conversation we had about the movie Troy..." Yoh's eyes widen. "You mean... [DRAMATIC PAUSE] Mosuke was your cousin?  ??!" Amidaru facefaults. |

The movie Troy chose to emphasize Achilles and Patroclus being cousins (they they were in the original mythology, iirc) over a more important part of their relationship. Also, one of the root causes of the mythological Trojan war was Zeus having replaced his wife with a Trojan named Ganymede whom he spirited to Mount Olympus. It provided Hera, queen of the Gods, another motive to destroy Troy. |
