I still haven't seen spirited away although it did look pretty sweet.

Awww...no one liked Panda Go Panda?? I mean who can resist the giant Panda that smoked tobacco. ^_^
I really liked Nausicaa, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and My Neighbor Totoro. Kiki's Delivery Service was good too. However, I really did not like the dub of Laputa, I will have to watch it subtitled sometime and see if it's better. I still haven't seen Castle of Cagliostro yet.

Nausicaa was the first anime I saw...back in ninteen-eighty-mumble-mumble...
It was called "Warriors of the Wind" in the US, and the only reason I picked it up at the video store was because there was a cool looking robot on the cover...that doesn't show up in the movie at all...I was in my child-robots-are-cool-phase...
I like Miyazaki's style of storytelling, not so much his animation style...erm, I really like fairy-tale inspired stories, that's what I'm trying to say...but his stuff IS pretty slow. I can't sit down and watch it over and over again. Nausicaa's probably the only one that keeps the action moving. Castle in the Sky was good except for horrible terrible Anna Paquin in the dub. Damn it. I hate Disney's need for big talent names that don't know a thing about voice acting, then using big talent voice actors to fill in all the other roles and not giving them credit...
So I guess I'm not a Miyazaki fan...I own alot of his stuff with Saturn, but I don't watch his stuff again and again like I do other animes...

I've seen and loved Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi, Mononoke-hime, Tonari no Totoro, Majo no Takkyubin, and Tenkuu no Shiro Laputa. I started to watch Nausicaa, but turned it off in disgust halfway through. The manga was mutch better.

Hayao Miyazaki himself hated that Warriors of the Wind version. The redubbed Nausicaa is/will probably be better than that version. As for me, Totoro and Spirited Away were my favorites. Hayao Miyazaki himself hated that Warriors of the Wind version. Where did you get that information if I might ask? I have the subbed version too and there really isn't any difference besides name changes... LC

Wow...that's a really biased and jaded opinion! Yeah, they did cut out slow parts but I didn't see where it injured the story, characters, or plot. And I doubt any (or ALL voice talent by how this FAQ is written) is going to say, "nobody told me the story, so my acting sucked." Really, I didn't have any problems with any of the voice actors in that show, and if they're professional voice actors they don't need to know the entire story in and out...the voice director does...it's his job to bring out the emotion. And I also see on this link that Disney decided to go with big name actors, NOT voice-actors for the re-dubbing. Still has the urge to kill Anna Paquin. I have nothing against Patrick Stewart, he's an accomplished stage performer...but Uma Thurman? Geez...

I heard somewhere that a lot of Nausicaa fans dislike the Warriors of the Wind version... I'm a Nausicaa fan... I haven't seen "Warriors of the Wind", but I hate the Japanese version of the moving... talk about cutting out all the slow, story parts... the movie did that already... there couldn't've been much more for "WotW" to cut...
