Truly Good Original Character Couplings

Have you ever read a Shaman King fanfic that paired a canon character and a really likeable original character together? If so, what was the pairing, who was the OC, and who was the OC's creator?

My Favorite OC Couplings

1. Chocolove/Shizuka
OC: Shizuka
Creator: Falcon Strife
Shizuka was the first OC I really liked. She's a hyperactive and somewhat childish miko who is easily mistaken for a boy; but she's also very optimistic, sweet, and helpful. She thought Ryu was the guy for her, but in the end it was our favorite jokester who won her heart.

2. Ren/Lost
OC: Lost
Creator: Magical Girl Pretty Sammy-Chan
At first their love story seems pretty cliche: Ren finds a hurt amnesiac girl on the street and takes care of her, etc. However, Lost wins us over with the charm of her comic relief from the beginning. Her amnesia is SO bad that she has no common sense. (Example: She can't understand why she can't shower with Ren. "...You said it feels good!") And her unknown past is still unraveling in the story. It has romance, action, and comedy.

Nyeh, I myself haven't read many mankin fics because most i see on ff.net are with OCs and seem to tend to be mary-sues. However the ones you mentioned Setsumi seem interesting. Do you happen to have links to those stories?

I guess i like the OC pairings in Papaya and I's RP xD; Even though theyre my own OCs. I'm particularly happy with how they both turned out. Particularly my character Kojika Horohoro is paired with, they just go well together xD She's kinda insane, and he's...Horo. X3

I love BabySoft-chan's OCs:She my fav writer and her OC's are funny.

Well I like Nev's OC's because they nutty and witty and when we RPG it's crazy.XD

She's got her OC, Dev who's gay and loves Toka and Toka's gay too(really they are) and Nev(oc) who we paired up with Ren.She likes my oc Minako and Ryu together and Kitsune(OC's sprirt) and Amdiamaru together too.

I don't read stories that include mankin character/OOC pairings. I usually read only the Ren/Pirika ones.

I've also got an OC who is Ren's fiancee. One catch: She isn't able to see or sense ghosts at all, and never wil be able to.

He was engaged to her at a young age to cement a political alliance between En and another shamanic family. She's got the gene for shamanism, but she's only a carrier, not someone who has apparent abilities. Her name's Meiling, after a certain anime-only Cardcaptor Sakura character. So one could say I have a canon/OC pairing I like.

If they were in love, that is... Mei's got an unreciprocated love for Jun.

Babysoft-chan's writings make me squeal like a fangirl. Her OCs are so well developed! (I can only hope that Elspeth is that well written in. She doesn't get paired with anyone from the canon, though.)

UPDATE: A Lost Soul, which is the story about Ren and Lost's romance, has reached the beggining of its climax. A man named Xavier has kidnapped Ren's sweetheart for an unknown purpose. Can Ren and company save Lost? Will we ever find out who or what she really is? I know I can't wait!

Hao/Alyandra

Creator: Enchating Sorceress

The fic, which is called Fire and Ice, is still in progress; but it has a very unique premise. Alyandra, a girl born with a silver spoon in her mouth, can only inherit her grandfather's wealth if she marries a shaman within three days. Well, guess who she proposes to? Will this business deal turn serious? Anybody who reads this post really needs to check out this great story.


Ren/Pin-Mei

OC: Pin-Mei

Creator: Jezebel Parks

Most people get clothes or a car for their sixteeth birthday. Poor Ren gets a fiancee. Only two chapters have been written, but Pin-Mei is already very likeable. She seems to be kind of spoiled and selfish, but that's what makes her interesting.






EDIT: Innle, have you written any stories written featuring Meiling? I already feel sympathetic for and am intrigued by her.


RyuLover, did you write a Christmas oneshot that featured Ryu and Minako a while back? I think I may have read it, but I'm not sure. I can't remember what the title was.
