kamanji and i will be doing shaman king cosplay in june. i want to suprise him by making hao's sword from, i think, episode 61. i searched and found one screen shot, and it's not even a good one. i was wondering if it was better viewed in the manga and or if someone has a good screencap of it.

He doesn't have the sword in the manga. I could only find two screenshots featuring the sword at my usual screencap source, though: this one, and this one. Sorry about the latter being a motion shot, but despite the blurring the silouhette and shape of the sword's handle are fairly well detailed. (It's surprisingly flat...) I think there are people on here with access to episode 61 who could do screencaps, though. If not... well, I'll be looking for settei with the sword in them now!

Uh, well... I'd be willing to help build it, if you wouldn't mind having it shipped back and forth between the two of us (I think it's sweet that you want to do something like that!).

I carve swords out of wood. mostly handcarving. That sword looks very hard to make but, (lightbulb on) you could make it happen by carving out a few peices and fit them together using biscuit joints and wood glue.
+ electric tools. (im too old fanished to use a router, even though the edges would be perfect)
