FLCL (FuriKuri)

Does anyone here know the anime FLCL, or FuriKuri, or~ Fooly Cooly?? (dont ask me why it has so many names..>< ) I know it aired on CN..somewhere..but I dont have the american CN.

Anyways, I heard it was a good anime, weird and confusing, but good. I was thinking of buying the DVDs, so my question is, are they worth getting??

Ah, I watched it once, I didn't care for it. At one point a girl and a guy entered a cornfield, (or flower field, I don't remember) and the next thing I know, Her legs are above the top of the stalks spread apart and twitching..... It may have been totally innocent and I just have my mind in the gutter, but I tuned it off all the same.

That said, some of the randomness is really funny,(a robot comes out of a kids head......) and there are A LOT of guns in the show. It all depends on if you're into that type of thing. I suggest looking at a few episodes first before shelling out the cash for a DVD.

well actually, i have no way to see the show, like i said, i dont have the american CN, and I cant rent it anywhere here (this country revolves around pokemon and yu gi oh) i like anime which are weird and make no sense, ah and guns are fun! (whoa that rhymed..)

im thinking i will buy them...besides, i have money to throw away (i hate getting new clothes so screw that), plus, i always love trying a new anime! and if i dont like them, ill just sell em to the legal 'black market' here

i just finished ordering them, the whole box set actually, it comes with an artbook (whoo!) I also ordered Labyrinth of Flames (which is the anime i couldnt remember the name of in the "Favorite Anime!" thread) and the two Those who Hunt Elves volumes. Oh and the Spirited Away OST ;D

It may seem like a lot, but i actually didnt end up paying, my uncle bought them for me XD

i will now hit myself as punishment for going off topic.

Only saw 2 eps of it and they were the 2 last ones,and then it was off the air. So I didn't watch the whole 6 eps but it was all I could handle XD
I also have a weird sense of humor,and Resuire, I suggest Execl saga for ya.I heard it's nuts!! XD

Ehh, I know this is sort of spamming...o_0 Lovely can shoot me if she wishes. But I've seen the 6 eps. and I want to share my opinion on them. And I wasn't going to make another thread for it...^^ Oh, and there *might* be spoilers.

Well, so far I have one thing to say...

Whoa...

First, the animation. I liked it. It was always in motion, and the colors weren't flat, if you understand that...o_0

The character designs were nice too, especially Haruko, her hair and eye color were a unique combination, as were her facial expressions, she could look serious at times, or cute in others.

Everyone always comments on how Naota looks like another Shinji Ikari, I disagree. Shinji is all depressed and has an inferiority complex like Lyserg. >_O Naota was all energetic and out-spoken. Bah, he's just plain cooler than Shinji.

Mamimi is...weird...@_@ Why does she call everyone Takkun?? She can come off as a drug addict. o_0 And all her cigarettes say "Never Knows Best" or something like that. What, does she write it on every cigarette she owns? o_0

Amarao.....*quotes FLCL characters* "Those eyebrows..." Heh, I wonder how he grew them back so quickly after Haruko made them fall off. XD

Kitsurubami is funny. XD Kamon annoys me, his 'theory' in episode 2 made no sense...o_0 "And everyone is buying Initial D!"

As for the voices, I liked them in both versions. They sounded almost alike. Mostly Haruko's, she sounded squeaky and hyper both in Jap. and Eng.

Naota's english voice and Mamimi's Japanese voice sound familiar...o_0

Ok, now....the plot....

Erm...yea...sorta like that. I understood it pretty much. Except for Episode 4...@_@ That ep. REALLY confused me. All I understood was that Naota can't swing the bat and Haruko took Kamon's head off...or something...o_0...God, I don't know...

My favorite one was ep. 5. XD It was the funniest one in my opinion. Maybe because it had that South Park scene. XD And the fact in another scene Naota looks like Kenny. Ep. 5 was the one Pinkechidna was talking about. About them suddenly in a field for no reason. XD Oh, and I loved the manga sequences in Eps. 1 and 6. XD Especially in #6 when you see the guys taking the manga panals away in the backround, hah!

Most Favorite Line: XD (It's not exact...)

Ninamori: What's this supposed to be? *points at Canti*
Kamon: Erm..That's our T.V.
*Canti gets up and walks off*
Ninamori: Eh? How can it walk?!
Kamon: It's one of those TV Walkman.
Ninamori: Eh? By Sony?

XD Sony reference! Hah, yeah I'm weird to think that's funny. XD I know for a fact Grandpa doesn't call it "special" but I can't remember and I'm too lazy to check. ^^

That'a all I remember right now...it's late and I'm tired....I'll wright more if I remember anything else. @_@

FLCL rocks my socks. Yeah, that was lame...XD

EDIT: Oh, and about Excel Saga, I do want to see it, but I would prefer to get all the episodes at once, and I'm too poor for that. @_@ And even though it's crazy, I don't really like the rubber arm, big flashy eyes animation. ^^

Um... your talking about the subject of the thread, I can not even begin to fathom how that post could be spam ^o^ .

Um... FLCL is cool, I'm not going to say it's "Teh Best Animes EVAR!!!111" but it was a fun trip into the world of craziness ^_^ .

I watched ep.s 3 and 4 in english, and I fixed the dialouge I had in my last post, it makes more sense now. XD

And~ since I watched ep. 4 in english, I finally understood it. But I still don't understand the part where Haruko seems to be holding Naota's decapitated head. o_0

I didn't mention this in the last post, but I for one didn't really like the ending. >_O Haruko just...leaves.... And it leaves you there wanting to see more FLCL! ><

Heh, this is off-topic, sorta...but today I'm celebrating my birthday early, and I told my friends, "Those who come early will get the honor of watching Fooly Cooly!" XD They were all like..."ok...o_0" but after explaining episode one, they want to see it XD! Ah~ and I said 'Fooly Cooly' to them because~ well, it's easier than saying 'Furi Kuri'. XD
