I just recently started reading the manga, and I have to say, I LOVE it. I don't have cable so I can't watch the eps. XD But I like the manga very much. The art work (in my oppinion) is very well done. And Sakura is just so cute. ^.^

I've read all but volume 12 of the manga, and while I've only seen bits and pieces of the first two seasons, I've seen all of the third season (raw) and both movies.
The basic story is pretty much the same between the anime and the manga, but I hear that they end very differently. I love Fuuin no Caado, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the manga ends.

Just out of curiosity, but since when did Cardcaptors start airing on cable TV? I know Cartoon Network aired the series for a little while, but that was only first 17 English episodes, and they stopped airing it after that. Anyway, I own a complete collection of the Cardcaptor Sakura manga, and I have to say that I enjoyed the anime more. This means a lot coming from me, since in most cases I usually like the manga version of a series more. I don't hate the manga or anything; I just like the route the anime took for the series better.
Plus, the manga's not the same without Meilin. ;.; Still, I quite enjoyed it, and I liked collecting the bookmarks, although I am missing a few. I have volumes one through six flipped, volumes one through three unflipped, and volumes seven through 12 unflipped. I also have a few random single issues of the manga that I bought. There's one thing about the manga that I don't understand, and that's why does Tomoyo blush whenever she's around Touya? She even makes a comment about Touya's ears. Does she have an ear fetish or something? I always thought Tomoyo was a lesbian.....

I just kinda assumed it was still playing on cable, because I know it was dubbed, but other then that I don't know anything about the anime. I've seen the first movie (jap) and I really liked it, since I can't get my hands on the anime, I started reading the manga. Tomoyo IS lesbian, she starts blushing whenever Touya is around, because Sakura is always there, and she is always blushing and looking cute. That's why.

More specificly, she blushes around Touya a bit in the first few books because Touya reminds her of Sakura. In general, I like the manga and anime equally. The anime has some GREAT "filler" episodes and it's a lot of fun. HOWEVER, I like the ending in the manga better than the anime. The anime, with it's last episodes and the movie, was just redundant .

Card Captor Sakura is such a wonderful anime....(and Im not the shoujo-type!) it just captures you...ok ill stop... Windgoddess, be glad CardCaptors isn't on cable...or on TV for that matter...CC is evil! evil I say! It will eat you! *ahem* Why not buy the uncut DVDs? you can order them online at any online-anime-selling place.... ahh www.animecastle.com <--look for it, it has all of them X) The artwork done well? It's CLAMP! of course its done well! CLAMP is known for their beautiful artwork. It's actually pretty hard to capture...believe me, my CCS drawings look nothing like them.. And the ear thing, XD, It's the same as Lovely said, Touya's ears remind her of Sakura's XD Tomoyo-chan shall be avenged! Madison shall die!! *ahem* sorry..^^;;

So, does Tomoyo start blushing whenever she's in front of the Kinomoto house because it reminds her of Sakura? Or whenever she's in the classroom? Or whenever she looks up at a cloud formation that looks like Sakura? o.O I personally thought the anime's ending was better than the manga's. I thought that final moment in the Sealed Card movie was exteremly cute. I actually would like the manga's ending more if it wasn't for that epiloge. It's just that teenage Sakura and Shaoran looks strange to me.

Personally, it is my opinion that a dub of the Cardcaptor Sakura TV series does not exist. The bastardization that is cardCRAPtors is a completely different show.
That being said, there were 39 episodes broadcast on US television. However, about halfway through the DVD release, they realized that no one was buying them, so they stopped. However, Pioneer did finish the actual CCS DVDs.

If anyone has read both TokyoPop's and Kodansha's English versions, which one is better?

I'd have to say the Tokyopop version, just because it's the only one that was finished.
The Bilingual manga were meant to help Japanese people read English. But Americans were importing them ahead of the US releases, and not buying the US releases. So they stopped making them.
The translations are different, but not majorly so ((I have Bilingual CCS #2))

Spoilers...
After transforming the Light and Dark spells, and breaking Eriol's spell, Sakura learns that Syaoran is going to be returning to Hong Kong. She's in her room, and begins to cry. As one of her tears hits the floor, her symbol appears under her, and the light shoots up. The light forms a card in front of her, and you don't see what it is (it shows us the back). She hugs it to her, smiling, then gets a ride to the airport.
At the airport, she sees Syaoran, and doesn't want him to leave. However, she can't give him a reply (in the battle with Eriol, he told her that he loved her). Syaoran's butler has brought the bear Syaoran made, and he gives it to Sakura. As the scene ends, the card Sakura made is brought forward, and you see that it is a heart with wings and a crown. It also has NO NAME ((contrary to what nelbaka gave us, in which they superimposed the name "The Hope" over the top of it)).
In the 2nd movie, a festival is being put on in Tomoeda, and Syaoran and Meiling come to visit (Meiling and Tomoyo are trying to get Sakura and Syaoran together). However, at the same time, an amusement park has been built over Eriol/Clow's old home, disturbing the seal over another card. This card was the Void (or "Nothing", I've seen it as both), and it was made to counterbalance the other 52 cards (since they all create, this one takes away). The card appears as a girl, and begins to steal Sakura's cards. As she steals the cards, parts of the town disappear as well. Sakura realizes this, and she has to transform the card before everything is gone.
Sakura finds out that the only way to transform the card is to give up the most important feeling. When only she and Syaoran remain against Void, who now has all the cards, Sakura has very little power left. Void does not want to be separated from her 'friends' (the other cards), and so agrees to be transformed. As Sakura begins the transformation chant, a ball of energy surrounds Syaoran, to take his most important feeling (his love for Sakura), since he had more power at the time. Sakura cries that she doesn't want this to happen, but Syaoran tells her that he'll just have to fall in love with her all over again. A light comes from Sakura's pocket, and the card is transformed.
As the newly transformed "Hope" card comes down, Sakura finally confesses her feelings to Syaoran. She tells him that he's her "#1", and he looks up, and says "me too." ((It took me forever to figure out what happened here)) The card's image, instead of just being the girl, is now the girl, holding the winged heart.

I have the manga in french (Vols 7-12. 9 and 11 have gone missing T_T) and I agree its amazing!
The anime I remember I was anticipating because Teletoon (Canadian TV network) has this very very kickass trailer with different clips and such with different VAs too I think but still it was pretty cool...The french dub I think had the same trailer I believe but aired a better dub (I think it was maybe even unedited to some point?) and had one of the original EDs too. The voices were overall amazing in my opinion, alot better than the english ones and better dialogue. But this was over 2 or 3 years ago so my recollection could be a bit shotty here. ^^;
All I remember is that I loved the french dub voices to bits and the french dub and hated the english one. o.o;
