SJ told a fan girl who said that she loved Hikaru Shindo (of Hikaru no Go) and hated Akari Fujisaki that she should find other boys.
Ariel "Kat" Shindo:
"Dear My Lovely Shonen Crew,
I love Hikaru [from Hikaru no Go]! Go Hikaru! And I hate Akari! (Just 'cause she likes him ^_^ [sweat mark]) I kinda like Tetsuo too! Shh!
The Infamous Ariel "Kat" Shindo"
U.S. Shonen Jump:
"Dear Ariel,
Hikaru doesn't like girls yet. And if he did, we're not sure he's game to date a girl who's already taken his surname as her own. Why don't you wait a few more years to see how Hikaru's shaped up? Meanwhile there might be some great guys waiting to get to know you at your local Go club who might treat you better than Tetsuo would...
By the way, hating Akari won't get you anywhere."
Akari Fujisaki:
"Hey...!"

Ahahahaha! That's funny. Even funnier that they told her to "wait a few years" to see how Hikaru ends up. The funny about this? Hikaru actuallly DOES age in this series XD . (Phsically I mean. It's pretty cool and it's done rather subtly as well. )

I don't really see what's so wrong about this... it might be the fact that I love Hikaru too. >> Thank God I still have a strong grasp of reality.

>_< I'm going to suffer from severe depression in a few years then. (Because that was my letter.)
Actually, Hikaru pisses me off. Why can't he just let Sai play?

Actually, Hikaru pisses me off. Why can't he just let Sai play? He explained that he wanted to find out for himself how strong he is against Akira... Not that it helped...

Well, I knew that. The point is he's a little shit. He did'nt give a flying rat's ass about Akira or Go before he found Sai. And I'm sure Sai wants/deserves to play more than that little f**king shit. And then in the end- >_<
Why can't Hikaru go watch tv like a normal mindless slave child?

Please control yourself on the language a bit Machi.
Anyhoo, about Hikaru: (this is all opinion by the way.) I always felt that henever Hikaru lets Sai play, it's sort of like Hikaru is cheating. Sai WAS a Go tutor in his past life, I think it's fine that his student became intrested and now wants to try playing and learning for himself.
And lets not pretend that Sai is blameless. His desires did make Hikaru rather sick (literally!) in the begining of the series.

I was gonna say something about me doing naughty things to a certain non-existant character we're talking about here, but I think that wouldn't be very smart from me. >>
I wonder what would happen if I mail SJ telling them that they're f*gs or something.

I think Shonen Jump answered rightly. I hate rabid fangirls who think that the characters they obsess over are real and that the girls who are canonly (is that a word?) paired with that character are stupid. Shonen Jump gave that fangirl exactly what she deserved, and I congratulate them for that. In fact, their entire Valentines Day page was chock full of fangirl bashing. ^_^ I'm happy.

cmon guys. cut the girl some slack. Let her live in her fantasies. Nothing wrong with liking an anime character.
Sometimes, I prefer anime girls over real ones. *I'm gonna get flamed for this*
"WHAT??!! It's a cartoon!! How can you think a cartoon is hotter than the real thing??!!" is the typical reaction when I tell my friends that. No, I'm not a child molester or anything, and I try to stay away from hentai whenever possible (like today I downloaded F3 instead of Rurouni Kenshin, cuz some wiseass renamed his file). It's all a matter of preference guys, and you should respect the fangirls for that.
No offence to any girls reading this.
*watches as everyone slinks away*
