Well, my wife is absolutely the BEST!!! She picked up an issue of SJ yesterday (Feb.2005). I began reading and saw this new manga "Legendz". Only one chapter, but it seems like it will most definetly be dubbed in the U.S.
(It has merchandise for the kiddies to play with)
I can already see this taking off like yugioh and pokemon. Did anyone else check this manga out?

I don't know...I think it sounds pretty stereotypical. Like, they took every stereotype imaginable for kiddie shonen manga, slapped some names and designs to them, and then stuck them into a manga advertising a toy. Of course I'd understand if it was aimed at kiddies...that's a completely different story.
Besides I found myself hating a bunch of the characters. Like Ririko, Hideaki, Shusukes, Ken, Hosuke, etc. etc. etc...heck that's all of them.

I believe it IS aimed at children. And I wouldn't care if 4Kids gets the anime, which has a completely different story from the manga. I don't know...I think it sounds pretty stereotypical. But yeah, Legendz sucks, and besides, it ripped off the name of this manga that I was writing WAY before I even knew that this "Legendz" crapload existed.

Like adding a "z" to a word instead of an "s" is something no one else would EVER think of . >.< Actually, the "Legends" thing I made up was spelled correctly, that is, with an "s" at the end instead of a "z". But ripoff or not, from what I've seen, this Legendz stuff is nothing more than a huge advertisement for a tamagotchi toy. The characters are all gigantic stereotypes, and it's kind of sickening. |
