I love this anime...so I'm making a thread for it because it's downright cool, so nyah.

There's a reason I didn't add the 'J' in the thread title. Because I won't just talk about Saber J, but all of the Saber series. J, J Again, J to X, and R. (Well...I don't like R...but I'll mention it anyways...)

I absolutely love this anime, it has has a great story, wonderful characters, and a catchy soundtrack!

It also has great character development. Looking for a show that has character development? This anime HAS character development. And lots of it. Since the marionettes have Maiden Circuits (Or Virgin Circuits...o_0 That's what they called it in spanish...), they have real emotions like real people. Unlike the other lifeless marionettes.

Let's go through the series shall we? ^_^

Saber Marionette J: This was actually the anime that got me into...erm, anime. ^_^ The first time I saw it, I got hooked. It was in Japanese at first, so I didn't understand what anyone was saying. XD But with the magical help of DirectTV, I put the language in Spanish. Whoo!

Saber J is the best out of all the series. I love all the episodes. They all have some great comedy. My favorite character has got to be Lime (who's played by Megumi-san) . ^_^ She's just so cute! Her naiveness (is that a word?) is so funny! I love the first episode where she throws the building on Hanagata. >D Ah yes, Hanagata...he's gay. ^_^ I remember Ashil mentioning him as a crush. I love Hanagata too, he's so funny! Especially when he sings! XD

Favorite line?

Lime: I'm defective!!

Saber Marionette J Again: This one is actually a six episode OAV. So the animation has gone way up compared to Saber J. But...I didn't really like the story. First off, for some odd reason, Lime seems to de-mature in this OAV. o_0 The new marionette, Marina, has 3 Maiden Circuits...I guess that's why she matured faster. But she still seemed a bit strange...

And for some reason, in this OAV, ALL the marionettes ('cept Lime and Marina) wanted to "get some" with Otaru. If you catch my drift. Oh, and Marina ends up sacrificing herself in the end. WTF? >< No one wanted you to sacrifice yourself! The only good thing was the music sung by Megumi-san. I especially love the opening Hesitation.

Saber Marionette J to X: Don't worry, we'll almost done...^_^; Saber J to X to the final series. The animation is still very nice, although not as good as the OAV. I really didn't like some of the episodes in this one...some of them were a bit boring...oh but I loved the race episode...>D

Otaru: Only men can compete in the races! You guys are marionettes!

*Out of nowhere, Lime, Cherry and Bloodberry are all dressed as men*

Otaru: *falls over*

XD! Yes, I loved that scene, whenever I miss it, I curse to myself. XD

Don't have anything else to say for J to X...like I said...wasn't much fun most of the time...

Saber Marionette R: Bah. BAH. I honestly didn't like this series. I don't know why...I just didn't...The characters, while they do have the same names (the marionettes that is) have completely different character and looks. And now they all revolve around some kid named Jr. And there was a lot more sexual stuff in this series...o_0 Especially when dealing with the enemy marionettes...those women...ugh...

Yeah, that's about it. I'm SO sorry for making this post so long. Even when I'm not ranting I have to make things long. XD

So for those who have seen the series.......reply to this thread or I shall shoot you!!

*cough* I'm kidding...but for those who haven't seen it. GO OUT AND BUY IT!! I COMMAND YOU!!! *cough* Nah, I'm kidding there too...but...

I really REALLY recommend it. ^_^

i got one of the dvd's a few years back! i'll give you 3 guesses as to whom my favorite character was.
i found this series to be pretty fun from what i can remember from the dvd.

Honestly, I haven't seen Saber Marionette in like..2 years...o_0 I had it on DirectTV but...yeah...DirectTV went bye bye. T___T I had this channel called Locomotion that showed almost nothing but anime! >___> ifhbjs gdb

from what i can remeber from my dvd, i liked it when he was trying to build up to go agienst his dad and ended up getting pwned.

but i love it when he goes after otaru!

Oh yes! I remember that. XD I think that episode was in J to X though...

I find it strange Hanagata and his brother are the only blondes in Japoness. XD

>.< Maybe it's just 'cause I've read the manga, but...it seems to be a complete, utter ripoff of Chobits and Love Hina, overfilled with fan service, and with the plot dumbed down A LOT. The art, too...it annoyed me. The squashed heads... The manga's only saving grace is Hanagata...XD

But mayhaps it's just because the anime's different than the manga, or something. I wouldn't know.

o_0 I believe Saber Marionette ('J' at least) came before Chobits and Love Hina actually...so...it couldn't really be a ripoff...

Saber J, the anime, is...how you say...old looking...it's not a new anime. I don't know the exact date it was aired but...the animation, compared to Chobits and Love Hina is...well...poor.

Err...I haven't read the manga...so maybe it is different from the anime...^^; I don't know...

Then that just means that Chobits and Love Hina are BETTER ripoffs of Saber Marionette! The plots of both those series are a LOT deeper...but then again, Chobits is CLAMP, and the only time CLAMP ever erred was with any series having to do with CLAMP Campus...*shoots the CLAMP Campus Detectives*

*cough* Sorry, but I honestly don't see anything deep about Love Hina. But that's your opinion. ^^;;

I usually check out review sites before I buy an anime. Out of all the review sites I've seen, T.H.E.M is the best one in my opinion. And they gave Saber Marionette (J and J to X, not J Again...because...J Again sucked) a higher rating than Love Hina and Chobits...

As for fanservice...I've seen A LOT more in Love Hina than in SM. ^^;;; Just saying...I don't want to get into a discussion, I'm just giving my opinion, as you did.

By the way...do you know which series the manga was of? J, J to X, etc? If it was R...then I understand why you would hate it...><

Wait...you said you've only read the manga right? Well, you can't really judge a series only by it's manga. As you know, the anime tends to be different sometimes.

I just don't like unrealistically proportioned girls, and the art and so-called "storyline" kills me...>.< It just seems so shallow and cliche to me...and the Chobits anime, from what I've heard, sucks. The manga's a lot better. So yeah, maybe the anime is better than the manga. But the manga is horrible. I could never even finish it, to give you an idea of how bad it was.
