Yes. It comes into play later in the series, near the end of the third season of the anime (episode 66 or so, I think), and the end of the 2nd half of the manga (I think it's volume 11, but it might be the end of volume 10).

I suppose they covered all of this up in the dub didnt they? I alway kinda suspected they liked each other early on, but since CCS seemed to be more of a kid's Anime I was always in the "are they? naw couldnt be..." mindset until I bought the last volume of CCS on a whim. ( which was also the very first manga I had ever bought. ahh good memories ;D) Kinda surprised me at first that the Japanese were so open with the concept of Homosexuality that they'd feel comfortable using it in childrens TV shows but then I realized that it could actually HELP the kids over there be more understanding and accept it as they mature as opposed to how repressed they are over her in the west. So all in all, hats off to the Japs.  |

Actually, from what I've heard, the Japanese are actually more homophobic than America is. It's just that their homophobia is less organized than America's, and they don't really care if their kids watch cartoons with gay characters in it or not. However, I've read that in Japan, a boy getting caught watching CCS would be like a heterosexual guy getting caught watching Gravitation over here. And yes, the dub obiviously cut out all homosexual (not to mention all heterosexual) relationships in CCS.

You mean, in the dub "Sakura" (don't know her name in the dub) and "Li" (if his name changed in the dub, I don't know it either) aren't in love!?! That sucks, I'm straight, but I like romantic stuff (weird?).

Sakura's name is Sakhoorah Avalon and Shaoran's is Li Showron in the dub, and yes, Nelbaka cut out all the relationships in CCS. They thought that it would get better ratings if CCS was a boy's show, so they tried to target the show at boys more than girls, and thought that boys wouldn't care about romance, so they cut out all the relationships (both heterosexual and homosexual) to focus more on the action than the storyline and characters.

Regarding the dub pronounciation, just what is the right way to say Sakura's name? I honestly thought it was the same in both Japanese and English.  |

In Japanese, you don't stress syllables that much. But native english speakers stress the second syllable. Resulting in "Sa-KOO-rah". In Japanese, the best would be to stress the first syllable.
So her name would be somewhat like "SA-ku-ra"

Ahhh thanks for that, now I get it ;D I have a feeling that it'll probably be the same for Naruto in the upcoming dub, somthing like Na-ROO-to whereas the little japanese clip I saw on naruto.com had it pronounced NAH-ru-to. (As long as its not Nay-roo-to I'll be fine wid it) I guess the west has a love of emphasizing middle syllables  |
