Anyways, I started reading it a while ago. And now I see why it's so popular. It's really good. o_o A good mystery series, and it makes you think. The art style is very well done in my opinion, especially for the shinigami.

If no one has read this manga, I recommend you do. I would give you a site where you can read it, but I don't know if it's licensed or not. O_o;; I don't think it is though. =P
That's about it. o_o I don't have a favorite character yet. oO

YES! Death Note is teh shit. I actually picked up the first volume of it at a Borders nearby. It was untranslated and a little bit pricey, but I could still read plenty of it. ^ _ ^
Yeah, Ryuuku does have a pretty bitchin' belt.
[mindless rambling] It's like, if there was a fight between Ryuuku's belt and.....Hao's pants, Ryuuku's belt would still win!.....yeah [/mindless rambling]
But yes, Death Note is a really good manga. Raito has a pretty evil dispostion, but thats kind of what makes him an interesting character.
In addition, all the art is done Takeshi Obata who also did the artwork for Hikaru no Go.
Oh, and for the record, it HAS NOT been licensed yet so I'm sure there are plenty of sites to go to where you can read it.

Gus- here's a synopsis, I didn't write it. Oo Raito was the perfect high school kid. Good grades and a happy family. He was normal until he found a notebook. This notebook is owned by Shinigami and it allows the user to kill people by writing the person's name in it. Discovering this, Raito decided to use it to clean the world off criminals.
Thus, criminals slowly began to die one by one...
Eventually people began to notice this. How could criminals all suddenly die by the same cause!? And at the same time? Thus, government of countries decide to catch this mysterious criminal killer. Headed by the mysterious detective L, a group of cops are out searching for Raito...Tonfa- XDDD The Hao's pants fans will brick us for preferring Ryuuku's belt. >> Too bad Ryuuku himself isn't hot. =P He's really cool looking though. Oh, I love Death Note <3. A bit behind on the latest chapters, but it's probably my favorite manga at the moment, along with BLEACH. If only the local manga/book store would get volume 5 in stock......

From the preivew in SJ I think I'd love this Manga to bad I can get to B&N to get it sometime... after 16th b-day I might have enough money so I might get it then..
I like the consept very much and human anziaty (cant spell...) that goes with control over anothers life is alomst shakespearic... what is good and what is bad...? thin line and the grey over whelms.... life death and all that lasts beyond....
O.o....ok... enough pylisophy for today...
(yes the belt pwns us all I like the cross)

Yeah the belt is cool (although it's not really something that I would wear).
The police are looking for the killer of the killers? How in the heck could they do that? Technically the kid's doing it with a paper and pen... they couldn't really prove it unless they tried using it themselves.
Anyway, I like how the "Perfect teenager" could portray an almost villainous role as well. The kid wrote that many names in only 5 days *shudders.*

If any of you have Walden Books in your area, I believe they have imports in stock. A bit pricey (12.00 X3), but that's where I snagged the first four volumes from.

i thought it was a yaoi manga. my bad i guess. the reason i thought that was because all the times i've seen death note, it's always been yaoi type stuff.
