Wow, the posting on this thread really grew while I was away. n.n Thank you all.
Chapter 53...a lot of people said it explained a lot. Now, I'll admit that I learned a bit, but my brain was stuck on "fangirl" mode when I saw Al's body. *shuriken'd*

Hmm, haven't seem chapter 53 yet, but I have heard what happens in it, *like Ed and the others escaping from Gluttony's stomach and Wrath giving his origin stories*. So, can anyone explain what Al's body looks like inside the Gate? Is he healthy, the same age, taller than Ed...
*kicked by a metal foot for the last comment*

Throes was talking about * Bradley, who is Wrath in the manga and Pride in the anime, and since this thread is about the manga, he was using the right sin for our good friend, Ultimate Eye.* Ah. I see. -- So does that mean that anime Wrath is manga Pride? Oh, this is quite confusing... --

No, because the sins are a bit different in both the manga and anime. kimara, since you say that you have only seen the anime, I could give you a link to a site that allows you to view the manga translated. Just PM me if you need it.
And for spoiler's sake, *as far as I know, Izumi's child, aka anime-Wrath, never comes back to life as a homunculus. In the manga, the sins have all been created by someone called the "Father," not as byproducts of failed human transmutation, so Pride is a completely different person, whose full appearance has not been revealed yet.*

Useless, in the Gate, Al was healthy, about as tall as Edo, but he was sitting.
Otherwise we would have had a full-frontal. I personally wouldn't have minded, but the creator, who is female, might not have wanted to do that.

So, anyone read the new chapter, number 54, yet? At last, the mystery is solved, *The Father is not Hohemheim!! Damn, never expected he would change Ling into a new Greed, though, but it will be interesting to see what he will be like and if he gains any powers. And yeah, the Father's alchemic powers are astonishing, but kind of cheap. No array, no Equivalent Exchange, no movement.....*

I haven't gotten that far yet, but...I was seriously counting on the fact that it was Hohemheim, seeing as I absolutely hate the guy (I'm sort of like Ed... I don't really like milk either...). I was counting on the fact that he created Envy and the others (but mostly Envy) so that I could blame him for Hughes' death!!!! But he's not the father guy?!?!? That stinks! ...Well, there's still always anime Hohemheim to yell at...EDIT: Cool - I've got 50 posts as of now! Yey! ;3

New chapter out.
*Okay chapter. Funny to see Mei Chang's reaction to the real Ed, and some awesome Scar action in there (he's always cool-looking when fighting the main antagonists). Strangely, I thought it was kind of disappointing and illogical that Ling/Greed retained the "Ultimate Shield" ability, because isn't Ling's body still normal, so using the shield should interfere with his regular organ systems? Oh well, just crazy fan thoughts....*

A lot of what people said about it bordered on "Filler content, but it was funny." So I'll check it out when I get the chance; I haven't been keeping up lately.

Heh, been a while since someone posted here....
Interesting stuff in Chapter 57. Now we have a mystery with Hawkeye and Knox just gained some more importance in the overall story. And that Mei-Chang/Ran Fan confrontation was hilarious, especially with Xiao-Mei's reactions.....

I've recently started on the FMA anime and manga. So far I've really been enjoying it, especially Ed's smexxyness and I love Ed's over-reactions to when people call him short. I've heard that the anime eventually goes off on its own storyline that's different from the manga, but since I've only just started on this series, I don't know how different they are from each other. For someone who has seen/read more of FMA, does the anime really eventually go off on its own plot and if it's true, at what volume of the manga does the storyline start to differ?

Yes, it's true. Everything is pretty much the same until after episode 30/chapter 29 or so. That's where the main storylines begin to go their own ways.
By chapter 31, the storylines are completely altered and have almost nothing to do with each other, save for the basic story line of Ed and Al trying to restore their bodies. ^^;
