I watched this anime years ago when it was on TV, of course, I was quite young then, so I didn't understand much of the philosophy references and it didn't hold my intrest for a minute, but now that I pick it up years later, on DVD..

Wow, Tokyopop totally let some of the more important things get over looked in the translation. :\

Doesnt change the fact that the anime is awesome, I really *REALLY* love the character designs, not just beacause I'm a bit biased towards the Aeon Flux-ish style of animation, but beacause the characters actually seem a bit more..real.

Of course, this anime is gey as hell, considering everybody walks around in thongs..

But perhaps that is a good thing?

But one of my few complaints, is that when they use computer effects, it usually looks very cheap, and they tend to re-use scenes..Low Budget production, perhaps? It was released by Tokyopop over here..soo..

Anyway, the DVDs I rented only went up to episode Ten, so I'm eagerly waiting to see the series come to an epic climax-- This is the type of series that doesnt just end, it ends engulfed in flames of glory and passion.

And, one last thing.

Alexander is easily the shittiest and ugliest anime I've ever seen. The idea was pretty damn good, being about Alexander the Great, but leave it to Chung to make ultra shitty characters and animation, that and the music sucked ass.

Not everything can look like Azumanga Daioh, and that's a good thing.

The art of nearly all anime is predictable and boring, the fact that this was done in a bit more of a unique style is good, And more or less, people just hate the style beacause it's not 'kawaii >^_^<', what, you expected them to use a Love Hina/Digimon bastard child style in the animation for this series? In the end, It suited the anime, which was an 'artsy one shot' in a sense.

:x I remember watching it when Adult Swim first showed it....I hated it. ._.; I was younger then, so maybe I didn't understand it or something, like you said Sam. I dunno...It just...really wasn't my thing. ^^;

I didn't like the art. oO; I like..'kawaii', more anime style art. X3; I'm weird like that. Art can turn me off of a series. One of the reasons I don't like One Piece that much.

I'm sure it's a fine anime it just wasn't...for me. ^^;
