You know what's stupid? I can't properly type the title of the series into the subject box. Why? Because you can't format text. See, this is how the title's SUPPOSED to be written:
ひぐらしのなく頃に or Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
Now, I know I'm not the only one who's seen this. I'm finishing off the last arc of the first season, and waiting for the second one (episode 23 as I type this)

For the curious, the show is also known as "When They Cry."~ With the direct translation being, "When the Higurashi Cry." "Higurashi" are a type of Cicada that come out during the month of July during sunsets. Anyways, Higurashi is a horror/mystery series, and pretty much the most violent show I've ever forced myself to watch. So why did I continue? BECAUSE THE SHOW IS THAT FRIKIN GOOD. I simply couldn't stop watching once I started. The characters are all immensely interesting, and the tragic/horrible situations are just executed brilliantly. Add that with an incredibly engaging plot that's told in an incredibly interesting style. Situations intentionally repeat with some themes, and yet the changing situations also give clues about the overall picture. It's just... .simply put, it's just a brilliant show. EDIT: Oh yeah, and the manga is pretty brilliant too. Lets just say, Equal opportunity fan service  . |

definitely an awesome show. episode 17 still makes me wince.  fingernails... second season coming out this summer (along with the second season of Zero no Tsukaima). looking forward to summer 2007 |

It totally floored me because I was REALLY not expecting it. Let me just say.... "cosplay"  . Anyways, I only have scanlations of the first volume. I don't know where to get more ;_; .... definitely an awesome show. episode 17 still makes me wince. fingernails... Yeah, honestly, my nails are still sore just from watching that. Oddly enough, that was actually one the hardest moments in the series for me to watch. And yeah, I'm REALLY looking forward to the second season right now. Though watching just one episode at a time as opposed to marathoning is gonna be killer for me. Er, pun unintentional. |
