10 things about One Piece (props to Lord Cyber)

what can I say for One Piece? I've only seen the dub (but read the manga), and here's what I think:

1) they kept ALL the original names!!!... well they changed Zoro to Zolo, but the "R" and "L" are sometimes interchangeable in Japanese.

2) I HATE, HATE, HATE THE NEW THEME SONG!!! it's nowhere near as bad as the dub Yu-Gi-Oh theme, though...

3)they changed a lot of things that didn't need to be changed (Marines to Navy, etc.), but the last few issues of Shonen Jump show these scenes from the anime as they were in the original...heh heh

4)this is the best 4Kids dub I've ever seen. which isn't saying a lot.

5) the voices were...actually good! I heard a lot of complaints about Luffy's voice, though, but like I said, I've never seen the original...

6)I guess it's good now, but I bet 4kids will progressively taint it like they did Yu-Gi-Oh...

7) I hope they release uncut One Piece thru FUNimation like they did Shaman King (and Yu-Gi-Oh).

8)did I mention that i reeeeaaaallly hate the dub's theme song? (c)rap= the worst thing to happen to anime since 4kids.

9) Zoro/Zolo is kinda cute ;D

10)what do you wanna bet that Eric Stuart and/or Racheal Lillis do at least 10 of the voices?

Oh I have been waiting for this!!

1. I am beginning to like the theme song.

2. Zolo Rocks. The look he gave buggy's pirates when they tried to take his ship (when he beat them up and made them row) was priceless.

3. Luffy's dub voice sucks.

4. Shanks was awesome.

5. Leaving Shanks losing his arm was pretty cool.

6. I like Nami and her ability to get out of every situation.

7. Grapfruit punch!!??

8. Acid indegestion!!??

9. Luffy and his ability to blindly trust anyone is sweet and at the same time annoying.

10. I am so glad that Coby was a minor character, I thought he was going to a totally annoying version of Morty.

Just to clear up any possible confusion, I like Morty. I did not like Coby. I just thought they played similar roles in their respective seriess (uh sierieses) ugh forgive my terrible spelling as well ;D

7. i love it how nami isn't a big breasted whiny girl. she's a tom boy-ish, gonna kick yer butt type girl.

8. im sure you can indo by drinking grapefruit juice (gag that stuff is bitter) they were pretty accurate there.

10. im likeing how they're taking their time intoducing chara's to the series and not haveing them meet up and be all "YAY!"
althou i can't wait to see what sanji and ussop sound like

I agree. Shanks being Irish was a nice touch. Made him see a lot more comfortable and easy-going.

Animes always seem to have a bad habit of introducing characters too soon. SK gladly doesn't fall into that catagory. On the other hand, it's sad that we meet some of the characters so late in the show that we don't get as much time with them. I'm glad Horo Horo was introduced early.
