I saw the premiere ep. I try to think of positives before I say something negative, but there's nothing saving this show. as as a poster on jumptheshark.com I can only say the shark ravaged this thing on day one.
I did think of a positive! On the obessive fan ep, Ami and Yumi were in space. And then the obessessed fan poped out of one of the girls' chest, like Alien. It was kind of cute.

I have realized the fact that the creator knows nothing about Japanese culture. Why? It's because they were in a Japanese restaurant in one episode, and recieved fortune cookies. This show is now nothing more than a money making scam.

I agree. Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is nothing more than a way to make allotta money with very little effort. Honestly, they could've worked harder (or at all) on the entire show... or cancel it so they can replace it with a better cartoon.

Fortune cookies... at a Japanese restaurant!
I can understand if it was a Chinese restaurant in the USA - Even "authentic" restaurants in the US serve them because they are popular with American customers. Typically "authentic" restaurants give Western customers fortune cookies after a meal, while Chinese customers get fruit.
Fortune cookies are Japanese in origin, but they were served in tea gardens AFAIK, and they were not sweetened.

Fortune cookies are only good when they are the tri-flavored chocolate/orange/vanilla kind. XD

Back on topic, I don't see the appeal in this kind of show. Why can I watch this, when I can watch Rurouni Kenshin and the Japanese shows on Adult Swim. |
