You won't believe this...
Sorry for starting a new topic, but I didn't wanna bump AND double-post in the other Sonic X topic...
France are getting episode 53 of Sonic X on March 12th.
That's a good MONTH before JAPAN!!!!
This news is just really unbelievable... a Japan-made show, airing in FRANCE first?!
Japan's getting them in April, UK in June, and US this Fall...
I for one am sickened by the 'French First' news. -_-
Because that means, I have three choices;
-Watch the French version (YUCK!)
-Follow the Japanese version (far superior voices), and be forever 4 episodes behind in discussions.
That, or waste time watching BOTH.
I hate all three of those ideas, but I'm gonna have to pick one... ><;

I have heard news there would be new Sonic X. I wonder why it would air in France first, though.

I would go for the Jap. version.
And steer way clear of the U.S. one when it gets here in the fall!
Can it be worse thatn the one they are showing now?

Hmm, the first site I saw Sonic X concept artwork for the new eps was in French. It still strikes me as odd that it will be airing in France before Japan.
I'm going to try my hardest to see the Japanese version first. I'll still watch the US version. Since Shadow's gone how could they screw it up now? Wait, don't answer that. -_-

How badly was the US Sonic dubbed?
Shadow was my favorite character. And no, my forum name is not an homage to him, but still. Didn't he have a deth scene or somethin? I know he did in the video game, but he didn't in the TV show (US version, anyways).
As a side note, I'm now a Shaman-in-Training! Booyah!

Oh, Shadow will be back in episode 59... Jetix France showed clips of episode 53 today. Hopefully our French Connection will be able to upload the commercial soon.  Oh, and Shadow did die in the TV show. The one that comes back is a robot/clone thing. So he *did* die, despite what 4Kids will try to tell you. Oh, and as for how Sonic X was dubbed? Unbiased, about average. Most of the episodes were dubbed averagely, with a handful of really awful ones, and one or two ones that were dubbed well... Biased, awfully. XD |

Yeah, I'm still on the fence on whether Shadow actually died or not, but I am pretty sure that the one in Heroes was a robot clone. So we're gonna have a Heroes adaptation, huh? I expected as much? Maybe the anime will explain the mystery of Shadow and his death. *quivers with excitement*
Also, I wonder what those odd-looking leaf people were in the sketches. It's gonna be cool to see how they're gonna work them in there.

It's probably because the French are helping fund the show somehow *shrugs*. So perhaps... you should THANK France ^_~ .

What is wrong with France? Aren't we taking this a bit too far? As with what Lovely said, maybe they are helping with the production of the show. Animation companies will hire outside help sometimes to help animate certain portions of a show/film. Sometimes that outside help is in a different country.

Nah, France didn't help with it. They just got a GOOD DUB of it with the Japanese BGM (even the Japanese SONGS!, jammy gits...). Hence, Sonic X was *very* popular in France (probably the country where Sonic X was most popular, added to that that anime in general is more popular in France). ...actually, that probably explains why they got them first. ^^; Oh, ad I have nothing personal against France. Mainly a hatred of jealousy. That, and that we have to learn their language at school.  (or, DID... I passed, BTW XD) The only slight niggle with the French dub is that the voices cannot be taken seriously. Chris sounds the same whatever age he is (that's all I'll say, due to spoilers), and they generally just sound a bit lame. ^^; ...still, they still have a better dub than us. XD XD THIS JUST IN 06-03-2005; Thailand have been showing thee new eps behind our backs for the last God-knows-how-long, and are up to episode 70?! Erm, yeah... |
