The best dub of 4Kids

Post your opinions about which anime you think 4Kids dubbed best here. I personally think that Shaman King is the
best because, despite some stupid edits here and there, they are cutting out less and less......I think/hope due to the fact I haven't seen the original episodes.....

Pokemon.

Even though it's already a kid's show, it still was handled the best. There aren't any random dialouge changes, and the voices are actually pretty good. Despite the random 3 second cuts for no reason, but they do that with all their dubs. >> Plus, it doesn't really matter...

Yeah...I don't know how to defend it, I just say Pokemon. ><

I don't believe you can. Umm while I must laugh at the irony of your subject, I would have to agree with resurie and say Pokemon. The show is already made for kids so their is very little to edit.

Plus, recently they have gotten to be rather hilarious with their randomness. Ash had a vigoroth fall on him out of nowhere in today's episode. And poor Team Rocket. Last weeks episode where they try to impersonate May and Max's family was just too rich!

Yeah, Pokemon. It didn't have that many changes, because it was mostly made for little kids to begin with. I know there's lots of name changes, but aside from that, not many edits.

Pokemon definately, they even used to keep original music. But you say dubs are getting better? Check out the recent yuugiou dub episode 'fear of flight' then ratandafox.net to find out how very wrong you are.

Wouldn't they still keep the original music? Nintendo has a stake in Pokemon, and I'd think Nintendo would want familiar music in the dub.

I don't think they do. I never really liked Pokemon so I wouldn't know, I just heard that they don't keep original background music anymore. That must be the only anime that they have ever kept background music on.

I voted Pokemon aswell, for all the reasons stated. Most of the pokemon voices are even handled very well (screams random wobuffet things).

The original music IS very nice to hear during the show. Hearing the original advance theme as music during the show was a very nice feeling.

I feel they even do the movies almost perfectly. I have seen the first and sixth in Japanese and the changes are really, really minor.

Not that Shaman King isn't a bad dub. Considering all the religious stuff going on, they keep quite a bit of it. Most of the deep religious stuff is still there only in an intuendo way of saying it. The violence has been edited very little from what I have seen, and they even kept blood. Removing country names is a wierd thing, but, I guess they have their reasons. Again, I think sometimes the locations are implied (at least Japan) so, its all pretty.... ok.

As for Sonic X, it is very average. Sonic sorta has a curse, which states all Tails voice actors are doomed to annoyance, and Knuckles can never sound the same through different series. Besides having a wonderful Eggman, Bokkun, and, uhm, Mr. Stewart, and a horrible Gamma, nothing else really stands out.

As for Sonic X, Bokkun's voice is *NOT GOOD* (and that's the nice version). Knuckles= Awful voice, IMO. I actually like Tails' Sonic X dub voice. ^^

They also pronounce Bokkun, Decoe and Bocoe wrong. And Emerl (or, M.L. ><)

I'd also have to vote for Pokemon. The only bit of the Japanese version that I've seen has been the sixth movie, but from what I've read from the episode comparisions, most of the cuts 4Kids makes is usually just to remove any kanji and one or two skipped episodes, but at least they're kind enough in this series to replace the kanji with English text....most of the time. The VAs are also really talented and I actually like Team Rocket's English VAs better than their Japanese seiyuu, with the expcetion of Meowth's accent. I also like how 4Kids is consistent with their VAs for the Pokemon and according to the audio commentary on the DVD for Pokemon The Movie 3, they even keep a record of what all the Pokemon's voices are supposed to sound like. Pokemon's dub is so good that it sometimes makes me think that the 4Kids dubbing it is different from the 4Kids that dubs all their other anime series. I just wish they would give their other titles the same kind of quality treatment they give Pokemon (and release official subbed versions, of course).

Definatly Pokemon. They could probably air the original with nothing changed but the voices an they'd be fine. The real problem is that crazy churchies think that Pokemon are "demonic" and kids are chanting the names of the Pokemon demons to summon "demons"

Yeah, I would have to agree with...mostly everyone else. Pokemon is actually the only 4Kids dub that doesn't make me want to vomit!
