Continuing the discussion from hereThe title of this thread is a silly pun. The number 5 in Japanese is pronounced "go" . He heh heh... *cough* That said, I just wanted to make a note about the original series and not the dub. I am currently on episode 136 or so. Yeah, that's all I was going to say *laughs*. O.k, I'll say some more . A LOT of people disliked an episode from a filler episode in the 130's that had Sanji and a little boy cooking curry. But ah... I thought it was incredibly cool. Of course, to be fair, I watch a LOT of Food Network. I've never eaten curry myself though....

I didn't care for the Filler ep with Sanji and the kid myself. I didn't hate it or anything, though. I loved the one with Usopp and the fireworks, though. Probably a bit of bias there, I suppose. The filler arc with the old guy and the goats was lame, but tolerable. On the other hand, the "Rainbow Mist" arc was excruciating. Too many whiney, bratty kids, not to mention enormous plot holes. I skipped through a lot of it. Possibly even worse than Apis. >_< So glad to be onto Jaya/Skypiea. (episode 146 para mi)

EDIT: In case you're wondering why I'm behind in watching One Piece. It's because I prefer getting the episodes in "packs" as opposed to singles.

Yes, Usopp is mah angel. ;D I wish I had the patience to wait for the packs. I just can't wait to see each new episode. Even though I read the manga and I already know what's going to happen. *addict*

I kinda enjoyed the Sanji + kid filler episode, but it was mostly due to the curry looking so good that I as still craving it 2 days later *ugh* DAMN THAT FICTIONAL BEEF CURRY AND ITS ABILITY TO LOOK YUMMY DESPITE BEING IN ACTUAL FACT A BUNCH OF PIXELS THROWN TOGETHER!!!! *coughYesI'mOKnowCough*.
And yes the Rainbow mist arc was plain awful, the goat Island arc (or GoatSex arc as it is affectionately dubbed by Kaizoku forums ;D) was just mind numbingly boring, so thank God for the start of the Jaya arc I say.
But my God the OP special 'Dance carnival' just has to be one of the best things I have ever seen, i could just sit behind my monitor and watch it over and over again. ;D

Oh, I know, I love Jango's Dance Carnival. It's hilarious. XD I haven't watched it in a while, guess it's time to pop it in again.
I also just watched Movie 4. It's very good! Good plot, good animation, menacing villain, and for once, a filler character that is memorable. And a bratty kid that is annoying but not so much that it detracts from the movie. I'm getting the feeling that One Piece movies are like Star Trek movies, the even numbered ones are good and the odd numbered ones are not-so-good. Movie 1 is very boring, and doesn't even have Sanji in it yet, and Movie 3 sucked. I think they got the script mixed up with a Pokemon movie, or something.

I just watched this today after school, and I must say, it was indeed VERY good. However, the resolution was quite low, and it wasn't in 5.1 surround, as it would be on the DVD, also the picture was quite dim. But I'm still satisfied. The movie itself made up for all of the lower quality stuff. Concerning movie 1, K-F used a bootleg video (where a person goes into the theater and films it on a camera to put on the internet, or sell, the next day) and subbed that, that explains why the video is so dim, and the audio just sucked.

They also had trouble encoding the film. It's the only one that has that problem. This is the point in which you bombard 4Kids with mail asking for the movies to be released uncut with subs. But who knows how long that will take, if ever.

Speaking of which, has there been ANY news whatsoever on the DVD releases of One Piece?

Speaking of which, has there been ANY news whatsoever on the DVD releases of One Piece? Not the uncut release, but their has been a recent announcement about the dvd's for the dub-only tv release. (yuck .) Apparently, Toei themselves are releasing it.

Yeah, saw that. That's kind of odd, usually Funimation handles 4Kids DVD releases. I wonder if we'll ever get an uncut release?

*stares carefully* Hey! They made a mistake! If that's the dub DVD, why is it pirate hunter Zoro and not Zolo? ....I've been shocked by one non-edit in One Piece from a whil back. When Sanji was battling against Gin, they kept in the fact that Gin was also known as Diablo. Isn't this against 4Kids logic considering that Diablo is devil in another language? ?_?

(*looks*) (*vomiting sounds*) ugh... But what I dont get is, If the show isn't doing any good on TV, then why make DVDs of the same crap, that barely anyone is gonna watch. They should have just went straight for an uncut release of the show like what was done for Shaman King.

They should have just went straight for an uncut release of the show like what was done for Shaman King. Well, according to Al "The Con" Kahn a few months back, "Cut episodes sell better than uncut ones". Also, the SK DVDs weren't actually uncut, they did cut stuff, like the second eyecatch, and the next episode previews. So don't expect uncut releases for a while, although I really would like to see them. And as to end the pointless complaints on the Zoro/Zolo translations. In my opinion, they are both acceptable, although most anime licencers go with the fan titled names, or the websites. CONFIRMED: After extensive searching, the proper translation is Zoro, although Zolo is still acceptable, 4kids obviously hates the real fans. If you complain about what I'm saying about the whole Zoro/Zolo thing, at least it's a better translation than Hao --> Zeke. Info from this OP game website
