OK, I did something I should have done a long time ago. I put all the clips I've made from the beginning up on a webpage. So now you don't have to worry about not clicking the link and stuff. www.angelfire.com/anime5/kikaider/op.htmlsweetness. I love it! I didn't get to see this week's ep., but maybe it was for the best (suction cups?!)

I missed it too. But someone made a clip of that scene from the dub. click here s35.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0G4A3XXLSNX3L37TSAUX7CRMJWOMG, when the cook shouted out "It's poison suction, run!" I just blurted out laughing. XD Comparing that scene with the original version, jeez, they really did screw it up. What Luffy says in Japanese is so much more ominous and compelling. And the music they used is so obnoxiously overpowering. There originally wasn't any music at all during the part where he was pulling the spikes out. So who wants to bet on how long the the dub will keep going? I imagine that unless 4kids really changes their approach, or the Toonami timeslot gives them a major boost in ratings, the second season will end at the conclusion of the Loguetown arc (episode 53) and that will be the end. I don't think they will continue to spend money on a show that has such low ratings.

The suction cups, first edit ever to make me laugh constantly. The other to make me giggle was the hammer gun.
This was one of the worst dub episodes IMO.

Oooooh all fear the mighty poisenes cups of SUCTION for they are the most deadly weaponry used by bloodthirsty pirates along with the candyfloss of doom and rabid neutered carebears. Seriously they-who-must-not-be-named need to get their act together, I think even their mothers are laughing at their idiocy. Either that or weeping.

When I say They Who Shall Not Be Named, I mean the fansubbing group we aren't supposed to name here, not 4Kids. ;D Although I can understand the confusion because 4Kids is the ultimate evil. And they (4Kids) will never get their act together.

Well they say miracles can happen. ;D But y'know it pisses me off that they particularly edited out the blood on Luffy's hand when he punched Krieg through his spikey coat, cos it just blunts down the emphasis of determination in his (Luffy's) character, like what he does is no big deal, he's the amazing rubber man so he doesnt bleed or feel pain. pshh why even bother liscensing such a great anime if its gonna be butchered so bloody much in the first place?

Yeah, I know, the question of the ages. Because One Piece is huge in Japan, and 4Kids was thinking "hey, maybe it'll be huge in the US too and make us lots of MONEY!!" I mean, it looks like a kiddy show on the surface, but it's not. I really, really hope this will be a lesson learned for them.

The blame can't be put totally on 4kids. Toei was trying to "cash in big" too I believe. I hope that company learned a lesson as well .

Yeah, that's true. America is a big way for any Japanese production company to cash in big. 4Kids offered them the most money, and they had to look at 4Kids' other successful properties like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! that really took off. But I wonder if they'll do more research in the future to see what kind of audience in America wants to see their anime before they make a decision on who to sell too. Because after all, even if 4Kids offers more money up front, if they can't sell the product to the masses, then everyone loses.
I give 4Kids more flack because they're the ones that actually desecrated the anime. ^_^

As a sad note, Britain is finally getting One Piece the dub... I refuse to watch any more 4Kids dub, although I may watch it if not to get a bad idea of what's happening in the plot, dubwise.
It seems that One Piece will be coming onto Toonami. (Although why they couldn't have kept it as CNX is beyond me. CNX actually sounded like it wasn't for little kiddies.)

Off the topic of the dub for a bit. No spoliers here, no worries ^_~ . I've been watching episodes 120-130 of One Piece over the past few days (I like to watch the show in large packs instead of one episode at a time .) Actually, I just finished epi 128. such a CUTE song at the end! Anyhoo... Dear Lord this show is brilliant. The content, serious as heck but then coming back with such a WONDERFUL sense of humor. I also like how the characters all genuinally like each other. It's such a great group chemistery ^^ . On another note, there was this BEUTIFULL fully orchestrated musical piece in episode 126. It really stood out. Man, The 4kids version of One Piece and the original version truely are seperate animals...

Would that be the one where it shows clips of them taking part in some sort of theatre thing? 'Cause I believe the song's called "Family", and I know where you can get the full version.

That's the bath episode isn't it? ;D Don't think you'll be seeing THAT part on 4Kids TV. XD YES. I think the group chemistry is what really hooks me. And I can go from crying one minute to cracking up the next. It can get really sad and serious at times, but Eichiro Oda makes sure that he lightens things up so it does't become too overwhelming or depressing. He's a happy ending type of guy. That would be an exerpt from Dvorak's Symphony #9, the New World. So true.

Oh, and just to be a pessimist for Britain, we're going to get the rap for One Piece's opening, it seems, because they played adverts of the characters, and at the end of them, they play "Ya-yo, ya-yo, ya-yo, ho-ho!" The "chorus" to the rap.
I'd even prefer the terrible dub version of "We Are", to be playing here. At least I'd hear a proper version of it. The one I heard was ripped from a convention...
