Not sure if this was seen anywhere ><; But just to say, while I was forced to watch KidsWB, I saw this ad of Viewtiful Joe in animation o-o I've always loved the game but  an animation based on it? And it was saying 'Viewtiful Joe coming to KidsWB' o___o; Hm... *shotshotshot* |

No really, I have a good feeling for that show, considering that it Geneon picked up. And those are the same guys who did Samurai Champloo, Paranoia Agent, and many other Awesome shows.
I actually went and bought a copy of the game after I saw the trailer for the show. (Very, very cool game by the way!)
Wow, imagine that....decently dubbed anime on Saturday mornings....^_^

So there is an EXTREMELY GOOD chance that the show's gonna be in its original format, or at least have a bilingual DVD release. And the trailers I've seen feature original music from the show. So don't jump on the "OMG ITS GONNA TEH SUCK" wagon just yet, we'll have to wait and see the first episode... |

Actually, I've heard the show is kind of average and that there really isn't anything to edit anyways ^^; .
But That's only what I've heard. I've never played the Viewtiful Joe games or anything.

I love the japanese opening theme ^_^;;;
Anyways, from what I have seen and heard, there WILL be some cuts on this one. Mainly cuts to the script. Silvia calls Joe a sex machine one or two times, and, things like that come up a bit later on aswell.
However, I wouldn't imagine there would be much blood or real sexual content beyond a couple scenes. And, I doubt there's much Japanese text so.. yah, I guess there won't be much to edit.
Not that Canada will get the show any time soon. -_-
Viewtiful Joe is awesome anyways though, and from what I heard the show keeps much of the feel that the games had. I wish they would get Billy West to voice Joe for the cartoon, but I guess that's unlikily.

Could be just an over-exaggeration. Considering that its Geneon, even if changes ARE made, they'll probably be the most basic, and they'll be handled well.
As far as music goes, well, the trailers I've come across (as well as the trailers for the new games) feature "Brighter Side" playing in them (opening theme) and it kicks ass.

So, who saw the premiere of the show this morning?
I thought it was OK. The voices were decent (Captian Blue Jr. sounds kinda like Shippo, but I couldnt tell because I missed alot of the credits), although the "sk8ter dude" sound to Joe gets a tad bit annoying.
I'm assuming that most, if not all the original music was kept, sans the ending. I'm just really glad that they kept the opening song!
Overall, It was a decent show. Not the greatest, but still the best dub that I think one could watch on Saturday mornings. I'll have to check out later episodes.
Certainaly one hell of a good replacement for Dub Piece, or anyother 4Krap bastardization.
Additional Comment: I think this may open a whole new for Geneon....

Uhm, good dub and all, but I don't think it was the first episode XDDD
I have no idea what episode it was, I have been without net for a while... but I'm almost certain it wasn't 1.....
The opening is original, but, the animation is completely different, and the song is cut, about 20-30 seconds cut off.
As far as I could tell, the score was kept. Good job there...
As for the voices, I liked em... Captain Blue.... I'll have to hear more... but everyone else was pretty good. Joe's voice.... well, I like the game better, and I know people will complain... but, that IS Joe's character. It was captured really well, and, it is the feel of the show.
I was very impressed to see the art style captured so well throughout. Even Joe's scarf was brilliant in how it was animated. I'll definately be trying to catch this anyways....
I expect episode cuts though... as I am not even sure which one this was... might be a ways after 1.... The whole "action hero" thing WB seems to like, it probably the exact reason for the episode cuts, and the theme song cut, as the part cut was a slow meaningful section with fully understandable love related english XD

Yeah, I actually found out later through the ANN boards that the episode that showed was #5 The reason for not showing #1, dunno, but that TV Guide did acknowledge that episode as #5, so to me, its not like theres some sort of a stupid cover-up going on here (a la skip Little Garden in One Piece) But like I said before, its a really decent show. Now if this goes really well, I hope that Geneon could try doing more stuff like this for Saturday mornings, which could result in Geneon easily dominating over, and hopefully destroying 4kids Entertainment in their own territory! I can only hope though... |

I happened across a forum discussion a while ago about Joe. They were mentioning how even before the dubber was announced, that there would likily be episode cuts.
The reason.... well, beyond the mild sexual content they could have covered up, there frankly apparently isn't much fighting in the first few episodes. Probably this goes against the whole "action hero" thing WB is going for. XD
I'll keep watching it, it's Viewtiful XD It's hard to be an purist with this kinda show. Damn, I fear the Ueki fans in the future.....
Can't wait to really hear the other characters, I wonder if they'll keep Gran Bruce Australian....

Comments on todays episode:
-- More villians make their appearance and they sound pretty accuate to the game! (I'm not so sure about Charles III though, but to answer your thoughts Vasuki, Gran Bruce still has the Aussie thing going.)
-- Was it supposed to be "Machine 6" in the orginal anime/game, or was it reversed for the show? (In the game, Joe's plane-dealie is called the 'Six Machine')
-- I think Silvia has the same voice as Fuu from Samurai Champloo
Overall: Still viewtiful, and still better than Dub Piece! (or 4krap for that matter!) ^_^
