Earthlink has been sending me threataning e-mails... ------------ Dear EarthLink Member, Your free member Web site home.earthlink.net/~shamanking-uncensored has been popular this month -- maybe a little too popular. According to our records, your Web site has exceeded 75% of your traffic allotment this month. ------------ It's mostly the "maybe a little TOO popular" line that makes me laugh. Makes them sound like gangsters or something ^o^ . Though I'm not really worried, the month is almost over ;D ! Still it makes me happy that people visit the site and perhaps are spreading the word. That... or they just constantly reload while saying "WHY AREN'T YOU UPDATING??!!" Tuh-may-toe, tah-mah-toe .... Well, either way the "threatening" e-mail inspired me enough to work on SKU a bit. Mostly answering my e-mail and updating the message board a bit. What do you guys think of the message board? It's not a HUGE change, but I think it's a bit more organised at least. Ah, in case you are wondering, I WAS going to work on episode comparison 25, but everything took up a bit more time than I thought it would.... erm... please don't hurt me ^_^; . Regards, Lovely

Guess you better keep an eye out for those Earthlink Gangsters.
I thought I was going crazy for a second when I looked at the message board. At least now I know I'm not. I like it organized like that. Looks good.

did an earthlink representative PERSONALLY write that to you? Do they really expect for you to somehow control your "traffic allotment"?!

did an earthlink representative PERSONALLY write that to you? Do they really expect for you to somehow control your "traffic allotment"?! Nah, it was a form letter. Also, you can control traffic by making your pic files smaller, moving them to a different webspace, whatever.

Ah... not really. It would be best if you hosted them on your own servers. Sorry ^^; .
I wouldn't be opposed to someon making an "anime wallpaper" thread on the MB though.

*looks at boards* Oooh, orginized! *looks at the e-mail* "A little TOO popular"? What, if it keeps getting more popular then Earthlink will send in The Mob to keep you in your place? It's probably supposed to be funny, but...hmmm, if your site keeps up this much traffic, will the threatening e-mails keep coming? Still, lol at that part of the letter.

problem is i dont have my own server oh well. worth a shot. Len, have you thought about getting a free site like from Geocities or some place to host your wallpapers? Hey Lovely...Can Earthlink shut down your site temporarily without notice if you over exceed your bandwith or traffic allotment? I know when I was on Geocities a long time ago, they would do that if too many people hit your site or downloaded a bunch of stuff from it causing it to exceed the bandwith limit.

Yeah, earthlink can shut down my site temporarily if I exceed the bandwidth limit (and that is technically what the "threatening" e-mail was about.)
They were just warning me that I only had 15% of a traffic alignment to go. Oh, and they could shut it down for the rest of the month (I assume.)
No worries though, I'll just move some files and It'll be fine.

I dont need to host it because im just going to distribute pretty darn manually. I have a "client" but she hasnt responded in days... which means i must of scared her away with my HORRABLE wallpapers .. ok i think 2 of them are really good... mine has some "other text" on it but i didnt include that on the public version. these arent copyrighted either lol... ....do wallpaper need to be? just curious i have no knowledge how to run or make a site. ive explored around geocity before...

They've got a much better system here than geocities...when I left I believe it was 2 gig bandwidth, but they divided it equally across everyday of the month...so if you went over 65 meg any given day, boom, you were taken down.
And the form letter would go more like, "your popular, we shut you down, you should really really buy our premium service".
So yeah, give my regards to "Knuckles" Malone and his wiffle bat when he shows up at your place!
