I allow talk of mp3's to come up in threads, but I won't make a forum about it. Mostly because it walks a VERY thin line on legality issues that I DO NOT want to deal with.

Ogg is a compression format, like mp3. LC can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe ogg is a free format unlike mp3.

I actually haven't heard of it, but I can get act the same way LC did when the right subject is brought up.
I do not have the same passion for byte buffers though I'm afraid!! ;D

I was just thinking and I know that an mp3 forum would be a bad idea, but maybe a music forum.
A forum for members to discuss their music preferences and what bands or music styles they like.
I know that we haven't had a mob of members requesting this, but maybe they just never thought about it. Like me!!
Anyway, it's just a suggestion. Perhaps there will be response to this?

Probably because you just posted it and no one has seen it?  I don't see the bad idea....but Lovely said because of 'legality issues' she didn't want an mp3 forum. I'm sure LC would get a kick out of it, then he'd be able to talk about Ogg Vorbis. XD I don't see how legal issues would get in the way of a Music Forum....heck, I don't even see how songs even have licenses. Artists are re-newing the cool songs into bad ones everyday! Though they probably ask for permission....XDLike Advi--erm..Avril Lavigne and her 'covers'. How dare she sing Basket Case (and ruin it )! Long live Green Day!! ><!! ahem...sorry...^^;; Plus, it wouldn't be like any one will link to songs, only talk about them. You want to hear it? Go buy the CD!! I'm not saying I want a Music Forum.....^^;; I'm only backing Jr. up on the issue. XD |
