1 - GENERAL FORUM QUESTIONS
1.1 Are there any rules?
Yes. You can find the rules thread here.
1.2 For some reason, on various boards I'm seeing topics from 2004. No new posts or anything. Anyone know why?
When members spam old threads and the posts are deleted these threads still remain on the first page even though the date last posted will be many months to a year ago.
1.3 What is a mule?
Someone who spams the board...like a troll.
1.4 What are the post ranks you can obtain?
-Cute Newbie: 0-49
-Shaman in Training: 50-99
-Full-Fledged Shaman: 100-249
-Senior Shaman: 250-499
-Master Shaman: 500-999
-Hopelessly Addicted Shaman: 1000+
-Patch Officiate: moderators
-The Great Spirit: administrator
1.5 Can you make an mp3 forum?
Music discussion can be done within threads. SKU does not promote illegal file sharing on the forum. If you can buy it in a store, don't link to a site offering it for free.
1.6 How do I set up notifications/bookmarks?
In v.4 notifications are now called bookmarks, any marked for notifications prior to v.4 are lost and you will have to add them to your bookmarks.
Go to your profile page, then to Bookmarks. There will be a link on the right side of the table that says, "Manage Bookmarks". Click it!
By default bookmarks get no notifications...at the bottom of the page you'll need to change the default to "Email".
Any bookmarks you made before changing the default you will have to go through each and every one of them and change their individual setting to "Email".

1.7 I forgot my password! Can you help me?
No problem. Contact any moderator and we will be happy to change your password for you so you can log back in.
1.8 Can we have a forum for celebrating birthdays?
There is no need for a forum like this. Members usually post birthday threads for people around the day of their birthday. Watch the general section.
1.9 Can we have a role-playing section on the forums?
We have had members start roleplaying threads in the past and some have been successful. Check the "Fan Miscellaneous" section for any that may be going on, or you can start your own there. There isn't an actual section for this.
1.10 Is there a chat?
Yes there is. The Java chat is here.
There is also a paint chat.
1.11 Can we have an IRC chat instead of Java?
There used to be an IRC channel but no one ever visited it, so it is no more.
1.12 Can I be a mod?
When the admin decides that there is a need for more moderators she will open up applications for those that are interested.
1.13 What are the "Patch Official English Forums" and why can't I post there?
This was a role-playing game started by Lovely to run consecutively with the anime. However, it is now closed so you can no longer post in this area besides the fanart section. You can still read through all the threads if you want.
2 - KARMA
2.1 What is karma?
Karma by definition is fate or destiny. However in this case, it's your reputation on the forum.
2.2 What does exalt/smite mean?
Exalting someone will raise his/her karma by one point. Smiting will lower his/her karma by one point.
2.3 How do I see other people's karma?
The only way to see the karma someone has is to look at their profile.
2.4 After someone exalts/smites another member, how long do they have to wait until they can exalt/smite another member?
One hour.
2.5 Can you exalt/smite the same person more than once?
Yes.
2.6 Can you exalt/smite yourself?
No.
2.7 Is it possible to get a notification when someone exalts/smites you?
No, this is not possible.
2.8 What is the minimum/maximum karma one is allowed?
There is no limitation on the amount of karma you can give or receive.
2.9 Can admins adjust the number of karma someone has?
Yes. So be good
2.10 Why is my karma lower than everyone else?
You may want to go back and look over what you have posted. Did you break any rules? Are you posting to threads and not adding anything of use? But overall you probably shouldn't worry about it. Having bad karma will not get you banned, and having good karma won't make you the most hugable plushie on the forum either.

3.1 Can we have a page on the site where we can read Shaman King manga?
No, this is licensed material.
3.2 Can you change the website design?
No, we are lazy.
3.3 What is the website address?

4.1 Where is comparison (insert number here)?
Lovely is a very busy person. I wouldn't ask her this question. When she decides to do a comparison she will do it.
4.2 What if I find a mistake on an episode comparison?

5 - PROFILES
5.1 How do I put an image in my signature?
Under your profile in the signature section, you will need to put [*img]image link here[/img] (without the *)
5.2 What is the height and width limit for avatars?
Maximum is 100x100 pixels. You can have your avatar smaller, but you will need to specify the height and width in your profile.
5.3 What size can my signature image be?
You should not exceed a height of 150 pixels nor a width of 600 pixels.
5.4 Is my signature image size ok?
To determine this you can right click on the image and select "properties". There it will tell you the dimensions of your image.
5.5 Can I use l33t in my sig?
Yes.
5.6. I need help with my avatar!
To put an avatar into your profile:
Click on the profile link at the top of the page.
Click on "modify my profile".
Scroll down to the "Personal Information" section.
Here you can choose to either select a provided avatar from a list; or if you have your own avatar and have a website that allows image hosting, you can enter the url of your avatar into the "Avatar URL" box.
If your avatar is smaller than 100x100 pixels then you will need to specify the height and width in the "avatar height" and "avatar width" boxes.
If you want a custom made avatar by one of our members you can go here.
6 - POSTING
6.1 What curse words can we use?
There is a filter for this. But please refrain from over excessive cursing and don't try to get around the filter. There are a lot of young people that visit SKU.
6.2 Can we post yaoi/hentai?
No.
6.3 What color do I use to hide spoilers?
You will want to use [*color=111111] (without the *)
6.4 Does everyone have to be nice?
Disagreeing with someone is fine, but we will not tolerate insults or flaming.
6.5 If a topic I want to talk about already exists, is it better to post in an existing topic or should I make a new topic?
We'd rather you post in the existing topic if you have something constructive to add to it.
6.6 Why doesn't my post count increase when I post in the "Welcome Cute Newbies" section?
Because it doesn't. We had issues with members post padding in that section, so post count incrementation has been disabled.

7.1 What is Mankin?
Mankin refers to Shaman King. You get it from the "man" in shaman, and the "kin" in king.
7.2 Where's DVD #3?
It's on hiatus, and probably will never see the light of day any time in the future
7.3 Is there a Shaman King movie?
No.
7.4 Where can I get subbed Shaman King episodes?
The first 2 uncut DVDs of Shaman King were released.
7.5 Is there an official 4Kids Shaman King site?
Yes...if you really must visit there...

In Japanese, "R" and "L" are interchangeable. So it can either be "Ren" or "Len" when using romaji. So...technically both are right.

Google has an image search...try there. Or just search for image galleries for that specific character. I'm sure you'll find something.
7.8 Will there be a new season of Shaman King?
No, there will not.

99% are from the forums. Not in the exact wording however. So thank all those that have asked all these questions. Although I'm sure there are some I am missing.
