In your profile, where it says "I have my own pic:" You need to put the url of the location of your image and check the box next to it.
You may have to mess with the size values as well if it isn't exactly 100x100.

And, I apologize, but you didn't really need to start a new thread about this. There are like three floating around already. One is already located in the newbie forum as well.

There probably should be a "how to get avatar" faq or stickied somewhere. Everyone seems to ask about it. Maybe the other thread could be stickied or something...
