Dead Threads

You know it's kinda annoying, when you try to post something, there is always that same topic on the board, usually a dead one, and it's dumb because the moderators lock it instead of deleting it for no reason. I think that the posts nobody sees and that haven't been posted on in months need to be deleted allowing it so other people can make the same topic but NEW for all the people that are NEW, and actually see it when they click on the board instead of looking for it to post, or if it's looking for the same topic all over the board, which is a big waste of time...

So, let me get this straight. You want to have us mods not only go through the trouble of DELETING old threads, but you want the opinions of other members to be forever erased? Because... they aren't privilaged enough to be "new"?

You want questions that have ALREADY been answered to be asked over and over again, just so that you can feel special and pretend that you are actually adding something new to the world?

EDIT: Actually, when the inevitable time comes that this thread will be locked (I'm assuming). I won't even delete THIS thread. Why? Because I think leaving even bad threads up serve as an example to others.

There is a search feature on the top of the board. It can't take no more than 30 seconds to click it, type in a subject, click search, and get results. Go to any message board and they will keep old threads up for the purpose of searching for answers. No one wants to keep answering the same questions over and over again.

And hey, Lovely, treat people better on your board. I said this because i have seen multiple threads locked because of that....

And this isn't a bad thread, it was just a suggestion because it also makes more space on your board so it goes faster, but hey, it's not my board so i don't give a f**k.

And another thing.... I said if it hasn't been posted on in a long time. I think people tend to go to the topics they see on the first page first.

And actually no, I don't want to add anything to this board because it's full enough and no one here understands what i am talking about because you're all noobs. Don't try to fight it....

You are incorrect, you do not need to know the exact name of the thread to search for something. I just typed in "noobs" because you used that word and it brought up your post you made. Go try the search feature, it works.

You don't need to start using cuss words or calling people names.

I think it's a good idea to keep old threads. If someone wanted to find out people's opinions on a older episode or whatnot it makes it easier for them. It's like an archive.

It's great that you have a different opinion and all, but if you keep cussing and calling people noobs, you'll get banned.

EDIT: Oh, and correct me if I'm wrong Lovely, but I believe you can bump an old topic, just as long as you add more than one sentence to your post. If you want to add an opinion, make it worth reading.

Yep, if you bump an old topic and actually add something new to it, then it's fine. (I think Foxglove actually did this, and added some great things.)

If you bump a topic with something like this---

"LOL! ZOMG! That is so tru lol . "

Then yeah, it's pointless, stupid, and just a cheap attempt at post padding.

Your complaint is mere whining, and deleting old threads just loses the intelligent statements of members who actually contribute to this board.

I honestly thought Lovely was going to shoot someone after that sentence...

The mods have kindly answered the question about the bumping on the rules and old boards set an example to people of what they should post and should not. Should not as in repeat asking questions, should as in asking something intelligent and it could give information to new members. Whether old or new, information is information and if they had something new to add to it, they would add something new to it.

So please, stop with the brazen remarks Ash... =.=

I don't see any problems with using the search feature to look for topics. I think it's a great idea to really reduce the amount of spam that could be posted. I actually haven't had to use it yet though, so I don't see why there's anything to complain about. Um, since when does more space make things on the computer go faster? Doesn't that usually slow things down? Oh, and Ash see next to my username where it says "Full Fledged Shaman"? That means I have been posting here for a long time (since the early days of this message board, actually), so I'm not a noob. And see next to your username where it says "Cute Newbie"? That means you're new to this message board which means that you're a noob.

So, isn't it kind of silly to call other people a noob who aren't one when you're the one that's a noob? And since when is it a bad thing to be a noob? Doesn't this board kind of need newbies? Unless you mean "n00bie" newbies and not newbies, if that makes any sense. ^^;; But most of these people here aren't n00bies or newbies. And if you think Lovely-chan has a bad rep., you should see Evil Lovely-chan in action. Come to think of it, I don't think she's been to these forums yet, has she?
