I have, on the Dream Cast. Ver. 1. I liked it, still haven't beaten it actually XD. I started all over again. My character is a FOnewear. You know, the girl with the crazy hat, and the blue hair...well, black hair for mine. and her outfit is a hidden one, black and red! (resurie's fav color is black, especially when combined with red XP) Her name? I'll let you guess... *points to message board name* I never got to play online though, I never got the connection thingy for the DC. T_T...

We had PSO episode 1 & 2 (not the online extra version) for gamecube. That game was WAY too repetive. Having to go through the same area 10 times just to level up high enough to fight the boss enemy is just way too annoying. And those stupid little quests made no sense "go down to the caves and buy me cake." Who in their right mind would be selling cake down in those monster infested caves?
The targeting system was pretty terrible too. Long story short...we sold that game.

I've played Phantasy Star III and IV back in the day. For those of you who don't know, these were regular console RPG's (not online, and it was turnbased fighting). In fact, Phantasy Star IV is the first RPG I ever played that I liked, and that brought me to love the genre in general. Never finished it on account that it was a rental though... Good times, good times.
Concerning the online versions. Phantasy Star Online I is the first Online RPG that I ever played ^__^ . I played it on my dear Dreamcast... may it rest in peace.
Dreamcast: HEY! I'm still here and working! Play me once in a while ;_; !!
Heh, anyhoo, I remember having a LOT of fun playing the game online. I was never able to beat it by myself though ^^; . It got crazy in it's end days with hackers and the like though.
Anyhoo, it's my experiences with PSO that made getting into .hack really easy. (the game systems are sort of similar) . Ah, good times, good times...

**bows down and worships Lovely-sama**
finally, someone else who recognizes that "Phantasy Star" =/= (sometimes) "Phantasy Star Online."
My very first RPG EVER was Phantasy Star IV: End of the Millenium. It was VERY hard... I never got past the first boss either time I rented it. I've been searching for another copy for quite a while now.
I've played Phantasy Star I via Phantasy Star Legends (GBA), and I've also got Phantasy Star II and Phantasy Star III, both on my GBA (in Legends) and for my Genesis.
I'm really waiting for info on this new Phantasy Star game... from the text in the trailer ('a new beginning'), it seems as if the next Phantasy Star will be a "true" Phantasy Star game.
