I grabbed this today on an impulse buy...and I gotta say...I think I wasted 40 bucks. I've heard nothing but good things about the Guilty Gear series, and I'm a big fan of 2D fighters, but this game has alot of flaws: - The intro is all still frame animation
- No background information on characters, setting, or storyline...I don't know why I'm fighting, or who I'm fighting for...I don't even know if I'm fighting for an ending cinema...
- You have to press a button to turn around...you can't imagine how cumbersome that is until you actually have to do it.
- Repetitive moves...I had to go thru training to pick up the moves, even though they're listed in the back of the book...well, there's not that many of them...true, I didn't see any of the special attacks each character can do, but I'd like to see some diversity on each individual character.
I'll pick up the controller again later and try but I gotta say, the game felt clunky to me, not as nearly as polished as Marvel vs Capcom 2 which is an old game. Just wanna warn you guys away from this one. LC

This is kind of off topic, but I bought the original Gulty Gear PS game the other day. It was really fun (and very inexpensive .) Though.... I can't really compare it to other fighting games considering I don't PLAY fighting games too much ^^;. Though, in general, I really like the character designs in the GG series. So that's what got me to get the first game in the first place. As a side note, I think Isuka is just a sort of "improvement" game of Guilty Gear XX. Sort of like how Street Fighter II had many "improvement" games back in the day. This could be why the background info was scarce, you're expected to know things already.

Ahh...yeah...I have nothing against the character designs, some really interesting looking characters, but without a motive or backstory I can't attach to any of them...
