Note: Please do not goof off in this thread. I would like this thread to be a serious discussion of what I think is starting to be a major problem with the video game industry.
Xenosaga Episode II made me really notice this. It is becoming more of a trend, at least for RPGs, to include scenes from late in the game to tempt you. However, while these scenes usually don't harm the story (since you don't understand their purpose), a large porportion of scenes from the many Xenosaga Episode II trailers are from the scenes right before and after the "final" boss, and from the ending, including some which are clear spoilers (to avoid spoilers in this thread, I won't say them unless asked).
Now, what do the rest of you think? Is the trend toward putting late game scenes in trailers, whether they spoil the game or not, good or bad?

I tend to not download trailers for this very reason. I think they have always contained spoilers. Especially after I saw one for Final Fantasy 8. I saw it after I beat the game and when I saw it I said, that trailer not only showed a lot of plot, but it also showed most of the cinematics. I want to be suprised. If I had seen that before I bought the game and played through it I would have been disappointed.
Unfortunatley, I did catch the Xeno 2 trailer. I don't remember much and I'm going to go and beat the remaining memories of it out of my skull. Excuse me!
(I apologize if my last comment was considered goofing off. )

I have yet to see this really be a bad thing for me, at least sofar as the trailers are concerned. Look at the Xeno2 trailer for instance: you don't know that they are from the end of the game until you get there, and when you watch it, you really have no idea of what is going on, and even as you play through the game, having seen the trailer doesn't really allow you to put 2-and-2 together very easily, even with showing stuff from the ending. Sometimes they mess up, I'll admit, such as the very end of the last Japanese Xenosaga II trailer, but usually it's not that bad. I'ts when you start downloading cutscenes and the like from sites like IGN or gametrailers who are trying to hype up the game that it gets really bad and you get spoiled.
