Yes. The name is lame and kind of misleading, but this is the game the thread is really about anyway!

I forgot to mention that when Albedo is quoting Paul McCartney, it's a true sign of the Apocalypse!! XD

If I were to get this game having not played the first one, would I be completely lost? It is a continuation, right?

I want to get this game, if nothing else, to know what the hell Jr. and Dessa are talking about half the time.

Yeah... we should of made a Xenosaga II thread a long time ago anyways ^^; . That other thread goes BEYOND Xenosaga I, to Xenogears, to Xenosaga II. The really sad thing is that the thread STARTED as the Xeno anime thread ^^;. *laughs*

*Currently, Lovely is in a state of shock due to one of the E.S's looking a LOT like Xenogears*

As a side note
I have such a hard time not calling the mech's in this game "Gears". "Gears" is just so much easier to say than random acronyms!

Yeah... it's best to play Xenosaga I first. Xeno2 is a direct continuation.

As Lovely said, you would be lost. There's a tiny bit of recap, but not nearly enough. Then again, it's great to play the two games together, too.



Oh, and Lovely, from a post in the old topic... Koichi Yamadera does both of their voices in the Japanese version, as well. I mean, think about their origins... they SHOULD have the same voice.

I will now be the third to recomend playing the first game before the second! Though, the second is so cool....I love the battle system and Jin is the best character since anything! ;D

Well, they do have that interface when you get to Second Miltia that allows you to read through a summary of the first game, but you won't be able to see Albedo squash his own head if you do that!! XD

Alos there are special things to unlock if you have clear data from Ep. 1. On top of that, you can get Ep.1 for about $15 used now!

It's well worth the money.

At my work you can get Xeno I for like, $12.99 or so used. Don't worry, though, Gamestop usually only takes in "good" used games.

Jr, wait on your opinion of Jr(lol) and Albedo until you finish the game(cool stuff).

I still can't beat the 3 extra bosses(you know who you are), even at level 65! Grrr...back to beating the final boss over and over again for exp. and skill points, not to mention getting money to pay off Mathew's debt(his debt hell still continues...sigh).

I told you that it looked like Xenogears. The intersting thing is that it has the name of one of the anima relics from Xenogears. I don't remember who got that relic though. Then again Xenogears didn't have a relic did it.
I'm midway through the Ormus stronghold in my replay. Must remember to steal from Orgulla.

That's where I am. I've docked the E.S.'s and am now jouneying through the puzzle filled part of the dungoen. I think I'm done with that part though. I'm on this pathway that is declining as I walk and there are all kinds of neon signs and things too.

Ormus Stronghold is one of my favorite dungeons in the game(it's so long and cool looking). I want Ep. III out now>< the ending was sooooo mean. Some of the later dungeons are cool as well, and get used to using the E.S. units; they are used a lot in the rest of the game.

I juuuuust passed that. The E.S's move soooo slow in there!
But... I think you'll be passing me soon Jr.
That dungeon tired me out! The laaaast boss in that particular dungeoun pissed me off... on a personal level. Not on a storyline level, on a personal level. I spent too many items in that battle. But I was really annoyed!
I'm going to try getting some skills and maybe some items by doing some "good samaritan" sidequests now.

... that... and I need to work on the SKU website. *cries*

Your right. Xenogears didn't use an anima relic (that's part of what made it "special".) As a fun sidenote, the anima relics are actually named after the twelve tribes of Israel.
