I'm really interested in it! I've heard it described by Penny Arcade as "Phantasy Star Online gone medevil" and that just makes me want to play it all the more! The not having a monthly fee thing is a nice touch as well.
But... I'm not sure if it will work on my computer.
....Because my computer is EVIL.

It's been selling like crazy at the Gamestop I work at. Many people are getting into it simply because you don't have to pay-to-play online. However, my good friend who shall remain anonymous(don't know if I spelled that right), has sung high praise of the game, so I guess if he recomends it, then I shall endorse it as well.
*yay rpgs!*

The game is wicked!! it fried out my graphic card when i first played it!!!! the graphics are that good!!! and you dont drop items when you die. only bad thing is that u cant jump over rock. really annoying... sum npcs dont attack you unless you attack them first. best, you get your own version of battlegrouds so ppl cant steal dropped items.

really? That's good. I remember in Phantasy Star Online when it was on the Dreamcast, when you died you dropped your equipped weapon. Anyone could take it if they wanted to. That was just soooo irritating. I stopped playing, actually, for awhile until the later versions(that didn't have that part) came out.

It's good for bosses to be hard, right? That way, you have incentive to get a party together to beat it, and the purpose of the game is served. A similar game that I must get at the end of the year is Phantasy Star Universe. It' the first "true" sequel to Phantasy Star Online, 20 or so dungeons instead of 4, and large amounts of quests and bosses. I can't wait!

Off topic, The dangers of assumptions: ... Phantasy Star Universe. It' the first "true" sequel to Phantasy Star... Lovely: YAY! Lovely: DAMN! Concerning Guild Wars (sorta). I went to a local computer gaming center this past friday and they had "World of Warcraft" running on one of the computers. It was at that moment I realised how much my home computer sucked . So yeah, I'm fairly certain my computer won't be able to handle Guild Wars now ^^; . Sadness....

Now Lovely, don't depress too much. The same Phantasy Star Universe that will be on line also has an offline game that is on the same disk, but is totally unrelated to the online portion. Essentially, it has two totally seperate games, one that is a full-length Phantasy Star rpg(like the originals), and one that is online and similar to PSO! You can play one and totally ignore the other if you want to! Dessa, who hates the online versions like you do, is actually somewhat interested in this new one. You should try downloading last year's E3 trailer off of gametrailers.com. You'll have to search for it, but it's not hard to find. I really can't wait for that game.
Oh, Guild Wars...um....well, My assistant manager got the special addition so that he could be "glowing with fury". Don't ask ^_^

Oh, don't get me wrong, I loved the first Phantasy Star Online game (I never played the second.) It was my first and best journey through online gaming. Good times. I just like regular RPG's too. And the orignal Phantasy Star games were pretty fun. Well, I only played 3 and 4 waaaaaaay back in the day. My very first rpg's *grin*.
Anyhoo, this news that the new Phantasy Star will have a good offline game included sounds really exciting! Thanks for the heads up.
