Hey I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the hot coffee mod that was found in the game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, and what that will do to the future of video games.

On the one hand, the game was rated 17, and it was ALREADY a game that wasn't for kids. The fact that the media currently believes all games are for kids strikes me as incredibly ridiculous. ESPECIALLY considering that over 50% of gamers are actually 18 and OLDER. However, on the other side of the fence, I'm currently a bit ticked off at Rockstar games. It's not the fact that the "sex scene" was in the game, to me, that's not really a big deal, the game IS supposed to only be for 17 (18 now) and up . It's the fact that Rockstar had it in there and then LIED about it. Basically, they just brought this whole annoying "video game debate" back to the media's attention. EDIT: Over in CCU there was a wonderful discussion that covered this and video game violence. I really recomend giving that thread a read, and checking out the various articles that are linked to in that. It's quite eye-opening.
