Shadow Hearts 3 is liscenced for release in the U.S ! - sourceIt's being released by a newer company by the name of XSeed games. (Off topic slightly: Also, Wild Arms 4. Which also looks like a fun game. But what the heck is the hold up on AlterCodeF? ) I found it intersting that the first games that this company will release will be RPG's. I wish this company the best. By the way, Here's the Teaser site for SH3Seeing as I LOVED Shadow Hearts 2 (due to it's story, drama, self-referential humor and characters), I am really looking forward to the third game. Another draw of the new game is that it takes place in the U.S. I figure this should be fun considering the Japanese takes on the U.S are ALWAYS fun *laughs*. I don't recall which time period this game takes place though... 1930's maybe?

*spiral jumps in*
Shadow Hearts 3 has not been released yet, therefore I can not say whether or not it is good. However, it does have some factors, which when considered, give a sort of positive boost towards the game being good.
1: Sequel to Shadow Hearts 2, a game praised by many video game magazines. As well as Lovely and Matamune, for its story, drama, self-referential humor and characters, as she mentioned above. : D;
2: A new company is doing it, however, they aslo created Wild Arms 4, which also looks like a good game.
3: It takes place in the U.S. And the japanese takes on those are ALWAYS fun.
Anyways, I mostly quoted Lovely's thread starting post at the top, so...Yeah.

I should mention that the company didn't MAKE WA4 and SH3, they are just translating and releasing it ^^ .

Sorry for bumping, but I have new information on Shadow Hearts 3, which most of you should probobly know by now, actually....-_-;
The following information has been taken from an issue of EGM: Electronic Gaming Monthly.
A title has been given to the game, it is now known as Shadow Hearts: From the New World. Keeping the timed hit wheel system in battles from Shadow Hearts 2, it is indeed set in the U.S.A., at the time period of 1929. This game can actually help you with your history homework just like the other ones(Som comment: :D), as it features characters from the time period, as well as locations!
"We've always wanted to incorporate America into a Shadow Hearts game." explains Director Hiroki Kikuta. "It's not necessarily an accurate version of the real place, though: You'll visit places like Las Vegas and Roswell that didn't really exist in this way back in the day."
The shift of locale brings a new fresh flavor to the series, but returning fans should ease right back in. (Som: *looks at Lovely and Mata*)
"Despite the new characters and locations, we still maintain the traditions of gameplay, design, and bawdy humor that fans expect." says Kikuta.
End EGM thing on Shadow Hearts 3: From the New World.
Well, it should be noted that the page has a ton of pictures on it, and they look pretty cool! Apparently, a double attack is only a good. *sadness* *shot*
Judging by pictures, the main character will be about 15, 16, with yellow spikey hair. There are 4 other characters revealed by screenshots, they are:
Tall white haired girl with not alot of clothes on. o-O; Yellow haired girl about same age as hero, appears to be a magician. Pumpkin spell! : D Middle-aged guitar guy. Loincloth guy with explosion spell.
That is all.
...So cool looking....D:

Just bumping this thread to point one thing out. To those warey of starting a series at the third game. Don't worry about it. "A New World" is like a new start in the story line. The characters from SH1 and SH2 don't show up in 3. (though, yes, I will miss Yuri.) The game is supposed to be coming out sometime in March. Judging by pictures, the main character will be about 15, 16, with yellow spikey hair. There are 4 other characters revealed by screenshots, they are: Tall white haired girl with not alot of clothes on. o-O; Yellow haired girl about same age as hero, appears to be a magician. Pumpkin spell! : D Middle-aged guitar guy. Or as Lovely likes to describe them... Blonde main boy who Lovely thinks has an adorable youthfull cutenes. Predictibly, some male gamers already dislike him. They feel threatened perhaps? Female lead: Dear God, they loose more clothes with each installment! Will the female lead of SH4 be naked? Heh. Well actually, she's a new character, so I don't really mind. Goth-loli chick! WOO HOO! And finally.... Antonio Bandares. There's also a large talking cat. Don't know where they came from . But it's all I need 8-) .

Pre-order bonus at Gamestop will be A copy of Shadow Hearts 1. Cool huh? Personally I think SH2 is the better game, but... two games for the price of one ain't bad.

Hum, I really need to stop bumping this thread, sorry about that, but...
I tried the Shadow Hearts 3 demo, it's actually really fun, the battle system is unique, and Johnny, the main character, is actually pretty likable. I haven't played the 2nd part of the demo yet, though...
I'm still a bit confused on some portions of the battle system, but, it's unique. The Judgement Ring system, as previously mentioned, persists in this version, and works really well, adding in a timed button pressing to add extra damage or effect onto your spells and attacks, it's reminiscent of Super Mario RPG, actually...D: *still wishes for a proper sequel to that game*
The magic setting system is odd, I don't quite comprehend that part yet, maybe I should listen more to the tutorials, hum...D: Then again, the fact that you only have about 8 minutes before the demo ends sortof prevents me from that...
The enemies appear to be of the proper difficulty so far, the enemies at the beginning aren't so easy that you can relax, but aren't so hard that you're dependant on scoring a perfect with the Judgement Ring every single time, I guess.
Hum, but, yeah, that's all I can really remember. D: But it's an awesome game, at least, from what I've played! : D;;;
D: And Lovely, there are other Shadow Hearts fans out there aside from you and Mata...
