Because SOMEONE needs to post something in the video game forum and I might as well do it with a game as awesome as this!
Whoo, run-on sentence.
Well, yes, I got this game a while ago, but I've recently become obsessed with it. If there's one thing that's great about this game, it's the fact it's down right hilarious. Probably the funniest game I've played ever since Conker's Bad Fur Day (yeah, I like crude humor).
The story and characters are all wonderful, and while the graphics aren't the greatest around, the world in Okage is bright and colorful. The characters, having that Tim Burton style, are all wonderfully designed.
Plus, this game has STAN. Who is like, the best character evar. D: PRAISE HIM. *shot*
There's only one thing that annoys me about this game, and that's the battle system. Ooh, the battle system... it's turn based, but usually, everyone will attack at the same time, so it gets really confusing sometimes, and difficult to keep track of who receives damage. Plus, once the main character dies, it's game over, despite the fact all your other party members are at full health.
Plus, after a while the battles begin to become boring. I often find myself running away from every battle because I don't want to bother. D:
But enough of that, I'm getting lazy. Even though it has flaws, it's a great game, and I really do recommend it.
DO IT FOR STAN. *shot*

Because SOMEONE needs to post something in the video game forum ... Well, I try to bring the VG forum back to life occasionally, but it tends to get ignored ^^;. Though.... to be fair, the whole board in general is kind of lagging lately (though I figure that's my fault mostly.) *ahem* OK! OKAGE! I did a bit of searching, and here's what I wrote about 2 years ago about the game :D . ---------------------------- Okage, Shadow King (PS2) : Now, I just CAN NOT recomend this game to someone who isn't familiar with RPG's. 1-- they'd miss some of the humor and 2-- the battles are so tedious. It's a shame, because if they had improved the battle system (and the dungeouns) I would say this is one of the best rpg's EVER. The visual style is very reminicent of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" movie . The humor style is reminiscent of that movie as well. This is a GREAT comedic game with a nice cast of amusing and quirky characters. Give it a rental at least (or find it really cheap...) . By the way, I don't own this game, I just rented it for 2 weeks back in the day . It amused me that much ^_^ . ------------------------------- Yep, I still agree with this. And picking up the game fairly cheap isn't that hard now-a-days. Just go to your local EB or Gamestop and hope you get lucky and find it used. Back when I first wrote the above, I didn't own the game, I just rented it until I beat it. I own in now and I only payed about $10 for it. Alright, so yeah, the battle system and dungeons in the game are annoying and tedious as hell. One could say it's just kind of difficult, but it's not only that, it just gets frusterating. The GOOD about the dungeons ans battle system is that at least the battles aren't really random. You can see the enemies on the screen, so at least running away and avoiding options can be an option sometimes. If this game had say... the battle system of Wild Arms 4 and kept everything else the same, then I would say this was a PERFECT game. It's mostly due to the story and characters who are just unique (or INTENTIONALLY cliche' and likable. ) That, and the rhyming character, Epros, is just awesome.
