The only game I've played in the Tales series is (my sister's that she lends to me on occasion) Tales of Phantasia for GBA. It's good. Some things are kind of weird, like how suddenly in the middle of battle Arche, Mint and Claus can't use their spells anymore (it might just be the particular enemies we're fighting, but still), and I don't like *how Chester is killed near the beginning, although he comes back - I've dubbed him my favorite at this point*, but it's a great game.

The spellcasters in ToP just stand there for a bit sometimes. The AI in that game is made of poop and fail. Dhaos > Yggdrasil, though. :0

No, he's not. But he's alot more interesting in terms of reason and carrying out his plans. I'd like to add that Dhaos sexual interest in a particular tree is superior to any sister complex. B) Yggdrasil in my opinion was trying to hard to appeal to the "moronic humor in fandom/sex appeal" type thing with the spandex. The fact that he was actually insane in the end was also somewhat iffy. I like my villians to be able to do dastardly deeds while they're completely concious, know and approve of what they're doing. Though enough comparison of the two. :S The ToP vs To_ debate is old. They took a great concept and improved on it in some parts, and brought down the quality of others over time. The end. Now, as for something wholly related to ToS: Has anyone bought the guide? I'm kindof curious about the quality of it..

Yes. I had two files, one for the Kratos path and one for the Zelos. on my first with the Kratos where you have to kill him I was like "nuu"
then I played my other file and I didnt know he still betrays you so I was like "doublenuu"

Volt's Dungeon is annoying as hell. I hope Volt breaks a lightbulb and dies from being poked with the shards.

Geez, lots of rage towards Volt 0_o .... Well, since I've seen an incarnation of Volt in pretty much every Tales of... game I don't really harbor any ill will towards him. That and... *** I didn't really feel all that much towards Corine before that point anyways so... Anyhoo, Corin sort of comes back and all anyways.Ah, anyhoo, I don't think fire really effects electricity. Being as electricity is simply, a type of intense heat discharge... thing. .... -amajiggy. (Science is not Lovely's forte .)
